Description

Is it possible to modify the Cloud Monitoring Console, CMC,  dashboards to have it automatically refreshed, without any manual intervention?


Investigation

The CMC overview page is a dashboard produced via code build process, this is why it is generated as a view and not a form or dashboard XML element.


Resolution

As of now, it is not possible to modify the CMC dashboards to use autorefresh.

Some other options that can be used:
. Manually clone each panel on the current overview page into a new private dashboard. From there, add the refresh label, but remember,  CMC updates will not be received with the custom app.
. Use a third-party browser tool that automatically refreshes a page (like Chrome extensions). With that, the whole page will be reloaded, depending on the time range being used this can impact search concurrency and performance.
