Description

Data Models are automatically accelerating after being manually de-accelerated


Investigation

According to documentation, Enterprise Security enforces data model acceleration through modular input, which is why this behavior is experienced automatically.

 


Resolution

Data Model Acceleration enforcement should be set to False in order for acceleration not to occur automatically

Enterprise Security enforces data model acceleration through a modular input. To disable acceleration for a data model in ES:

  1. First, verify if the data model in question is accelerated. If accelerated, de-accelerate via Settings>Data Models>Name of Data Models>Edit>Edit Acceleration> Uncheck Accelerate
  2. On the Splunk Enterprise toolbar, open Settings > Data inputs and select Data Model Acceleration Enforcement Settings.
  3. Select a data model.
  4. Uncheck the Acceleration Enforced option.
  5. Save.
