Description

Error:

sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target". ClientConnectionId:c64109f3-3e1b-4d72-8f05-7c0fcb7ec439

 


Investigation

Reason for this error :
When TLSv1 is negotiated between the Linux JVM and the SQL Server, connections are ALWAYS successful. When TLSv1.2 is negotiated, sporadic connection failures is observed.
 


Resolution

Confirm for which connection, the client is wanted to connect
  • If its MSSQL then you will have to edit the JDBC URL and append the below tag “;encrypt=false”
  • If its MYSQL then you will have to edit the JDBC URL and append the below tag “;useSSL=false”

There are two solutions:


1. You use the jTDS driver instead MSSQL Generic Driver

OR 


2. Or You can edit the JDBC URL and can append the above-mentioned tag
