Problem Description

Some ASR55-FSC cards are reported as CARD_UNUSABLE, Unsupported/Unknown, or Offline when booted with a new ASR55-MIO.

Background

These Management Input/Output (MIO) Product IDs might be shipped with StarOS v19.1 on the flash card, which does not support the shipped ASR55-FSC modules. Support was added for the affected modules in StarOS v19.4 or later.

Problem Symptom

One of these error messages might be encountered upon initial boot up of the chassis; CARD_UNUSABLE, Unsupported/Unknown, or Offline.

In the CLI, enter the show card table in order to display the FSC module in the failed state.

Workaround/Solution

The ASR55-FSC modules are functional. In order to resolve the issue, boot up with StarOS v19.4 or later. If the production version is already later than v19.4, load your production version and reboot the chassis.
