CSCuv95664 | ISE 1.4 DB growing large due to EDF_DB_LOG |
CSCvc79739 | EDF_DB_LOG Still Growing in Size May Cause Large Backups or Backup Failures |
Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) configuration backup or restore on an Admin node might fail or experience significant slowness due to exponential growth of hard disk space utilization.
ISE uses a database to store its configuration data. Internal changes made in the database lead to abnormal hard disk space utilization, where configuration backups might continue to increase in size to 5GB or more. The size of configuration backups can be checked via the web user interface in order to determine whether the ISE system might encounter backup or restore failures. In order to check the size of the configuration backups, go to the ISE system web user interface and choose Administration > System > Backup & Restore.
ISE configuration backup or restore on an Admin node might fail or experience significant slowness.
In order to fix this problem, upgrade or patch to these ISE software versions:
The fix for Cisco bug ID CSCuv95664 only provides a partial fix to the ISE database issue; the fix for Cisco bug ID CSCvc79739 provides a full fix. In order to receive the full fix, upgrade to the noted ISE versions. The fix purges the EDF_DB_LOG table and periodically purges it in order to prevent an increase to an abnormal size.
