Oh, good morning, everyone, and good afternoon s the we are here for the expert insight series, the 1st one in this quarter.00:00And today's team.00:20It'll be what's new in catalyst SD one twenty.fifteen. Hope you enjoy the session. This would be our 1 h session. In the past we used to have 1 h and a half. This was reviewed for defeat everything in 1 h.00:22So we're gonna have sessions regarding twenty.fifteen adoption in this quarter. We're gonna have other sessions also, we're gonna to share these sessions with you at the end and hope you will enjoy. I hear with Anastassia, my coworker, Anastasha is going.00:41Going to to help us with the demo.01:01Every session that we deliver includes a demo, of course, so you can see it in a real environment or real life. So let's get started. 1st of all, I'd like you to take 1 min to join the Slido.01:03It's just one quick question. You can join by just scanning this QR code and answer one simple question that we have in our Slido.01:22Okay and so let me give you 1 min to do that. We wanted to know you a little bit better, right? Yeah, just to break the ice. Okay, so.01:38So everyone if you can if you just scan the QR in the slide or you can also find it at the bottom of your screen in Webex, in the apps session section. All right. Yeah, there's another way to do it.01:54It's very easy alright so let me let me keep going you have all the information from the slider and let me introduce myself. My name is Marcelo. I've been in.02:11Cisco for quite some time and I started with tech and then I'll migrate to Cisco sales, all.02:30My time in Cisco was dedicated to the networking technology and I was able to work with large service providers and large enterprise and for quite some time already well with SD one.02:39And, I have also Nastassia and Nastassia is BS in physics and she has master integrated circuit design, and she's a Cisco live speaker last week she was in Amsterdam delivering a very nice session about SD WAN was last week, right? Yeah.02:56Weeks ago, ok. So, yeah, the, the Cisco live sessions are recorded. If you have access, I recommend you look for this is the best one. Like this is our agenda for today. We're going to give you a brief.03:16Information about the twenty.fifteen, what's new on that but it's impossible to cover all the enhancements in 1 h or half an hour because we also have the demo. And we highlight, you know, three.03:36Features three new features that were introduced in this twenty.fifteen, which are very, very nice. One is the UX 2.0 user interface. The other one is like the new.03:52Possibilities of network monitoring and visibility that you have available in this version, and 3rd is the configuration simplification. How, how easy is to configure something right now compared to the test? And then I'm gonna have a live demo with and then we do the So let's get started with the brief overview for the.04:08The twenty.fifteen. As I said, this is just a summarization of the features that are available. There was a huge change from the past SD one release to the twenty.fifteen, right? And you're gonna see that the interface of the SD WAN manager.04:28Change a lot facilitating your life and trying to speed up all the tests that I have to do like troubleshooting, like a network visibility and everything else. Our among all these features that you see on the screen, as I said, we are going to explore a little bit more the user experience in 2.0.04:47And, some operational analytics also with the network visibility. But feel free. I left the release notes at the end of this slide. Feel free to click on that and take a look at the release notes, you're gonna see all the enhancements, everything that was.05:07Addressed in terms of bugs in that release doc release notes document. So let's give you a brief information. This is the US two.zero, use experiment two.zero.05:27It's a new way to interact with SD WAN manager, right? A new way to interact with the SD one architecture. It's not only the interface that you're gonna see in the SD one manager. There's a lot of things behind that that makes this user experience 2.0 so different from the.05:43The UX 1.6 that we had before. This includes a monitoring tool. We have more dashboards right on the landing page, you're gonna see much more information that you used to to see before and you can update that information, those dashlets. It's very, very flexible. The.06:02As I said, configuration was simplified through via config groups and policy groups when compared to device templates and feature templates, you still can use feature templates and device templates.06:22However, Cisco will highly recommended usage of the config groups and policy groups. If you have 1.0 like let's say that you running twenty.nine or something like that and you want to migrate to the twenty.fifteen.06:34There's conversion two available to you that is going to facilitate your life in terms of converting device template and and the feature template to configuration groups and.06:52Future profile, ok? I'm going to send the link right now. Yeah, thank you Anastas. See Anastas going to to add a link to the chat, so feel free to access that. And one I think is workflows.07:06Workflows like wizards that helps you to configure some features to have a lot of different workflow flows available right now, things that we didn't have before and Cisco is trying to add more and more workflows that makes sense for the most uses useful operation that we have on a daily basis. Use.07:23Your interface. What it brings, it brings a new way to interact with SD one manager, as I said, you're gonna see on the front page again that I'd like to emphasize this, the difference of information that you had before and you have right now.07:43So you're gonna see a lot of dashlets that you can customize and write on from the 1st page. You can diagnose a lot of information in your network and try to have a better and faster troubleshooting and.08:02Find out the root cause faster if this is the case. Otherwise, you can use those dashlets just to check the healthy of your network and right on the landing page. As I said the workflow library is part of the UX 2.0 config groups, feature groups, the.08:19Words that I said, you also have a site topology. It's a.08:39Something that helps you to understand the topology of your network, and you also have something called network hierarchy. If you are familiar with the DNA center, you're gonna see that those interface will be very similar right now in terms of a network hierarchy. This is something that Cisco started.08:43Trying to standardize, right? So you have to.09:03To deal with this, you have to test it, you have to, you know, interact with that to be familiar with the UX 2.0, as I said, also the conversion two. This is the old one, the UX 1.0, just, you know, a snapshot and look at the difference that you have.09:07In the US 2.0 landing page of the much much more information, much, much more options to help you with your network. Talking about network monitoring visibility, as I said, because I have more stuff available.09:27You have more information available, you'll be able to have more tools to manage your network in a faster manner. E.g., one thing that Cisco did was try to integrate the SD analytics and the the SD one monitor.09:46Are you to losing the same.10:06Interface for you, not two different interface like we had in the past, right? And the menus were organized in such a way to facilitate your your work. In terms of network wide path insights, it's a very powerful feature that was available already, but you know there are some improvement.10:08Documents like support for SD one SD routing and also the auto own feature.10:28That allows you to configure SLA that if that SLA is heated, the NWPY insights start collecting the flows, ok?10:35Automatically, Real time monitoring for routing and policy and device configuration. Security now you have a security dashboard available to you. It's all the information about the the security features that are implemented like AMP, like umbrella, and so on.10:51Or even if you use it, it's available for you like you have in the 1st page of the SD one with this healthy for when edge is healthy for sites, health for applications so on. To know health and take the duplication statistic visibility something didn't have before, so.11:11Packet duplication is some sometimes is some it's something that sometimes not easy to troubleshoot, but with this you can have the health of this duplication when you send same packet to via two different transports, ok? And the as I said, the.11:31Dashboard with SD one analytics. No need to click on analytics anymore to go to another dashboard. Everything is was put together in the same, in the same landing page. Configuration simplification.11:51In terms of configuration simplification, there are nice features available for you right now. One of them is the workflow, so you have a workflow wizards to help you to configure stuff. You have also access to a catalog that Cisco makes available for you.12:08This catalog is in the Cisco cloud.12:28If you have internet connectivity to the Cisco cloud, you'll be able to interact with the Cisco catalog and look the, the configuration that is already read for you and check if that configuration applies to what you need at that moment.12:31Of course you have the option to configure this manually, everything manually is up to you. But you know, it's, it's very easy also. And last but not the least, you can import or export some configuration to your SD WAN manager and use that configuration.12:48To apply to your network. Let's explore a little bit of each one. And doesn't matter which method you choose, the results is the same, ok? So this is the workflow workflow library. As you can see, you have options to create a configuration group.13:07Group defining configure services chain, created routing config.13:26And many many others. So just click on one of these box, the box that you you need to, to use at that moment and the one manager will guide you step by step of that configuration. Of course.13:32You have room to change some parameters, you have room to add or just update some parameters that are proposed on that wizard on that workflow. And at the end it's gonna see a very, very easy process that have to be configured for you. I I did you know some wizard with.13:49Configuration group is very very easy. I recommend you to try, even if you do not.14:10Implement if you do even if you do not deploy that configuration group to the device you're gonna see how easy it is. I recommend strongly recommend you use the explore the workflow library. Second, you can do this manually. Yes, of course, you just go, you know, configuration.14:14Configuration group and you know just create a configuration group. It's the same thing that the workflow is going to do for you, but if you want to do this manually, you could do it without a problem. And, you know, some screenshots to show you, as you can see.14:34You have the feature profiles that you will associate with that configuration group. There are some that are mandatory, e.g., the system profile is mandatory, the transport managed profile is mandatory. Of course, the service profile you want to configure that because otherwise.14:51Makes NO sense, doesn't have anything in your land side, you know, do not have anything in your land side. And yeah, this is a manual configuration. And then when you configure that, you can associate to a device.15:10And you have the option to deploy it later. You don't need to deploy them. This is the same feeling for for for the other types of configuration, as you said here, so once your config group is configured, is ready, you can associate the config to devices and then deploy.15:26The, the other method, Cisco self service catalog service. As I said, this sits in the Cisco cloud and there are a lot of predefined configuration, at least the backbone of that configuration that you can use to configure your network. If you want to configure.15:45IR routers, you know, there is one very interesting the on the top, on the not top, on the bottom right side of this.16:05It's like single router SD one branch with dual transport. This is very, very common, you know, and you can also use this kind of a configuration via the workflow because there is an option for one router there with two transports also.16:14Feel free to export this up also. This is how you use the configuration catalog. You must have interactivity and you must have services configured and enabled in your in your manager alright and in.16:33In there is just like, you know, very easy step by step procedure. See this is what is done behind the scenes, ok? The manager talks to their catalog service and push and pull information from there.16:52Last but not the least, you can import or export config groups. This is something that is easy for you. You know, let's say that let's call replicable business, you configure once and you apply several times. If you have something configured that is.17:08Very particular for your environment. You can save that and you can import for, you know, to be used in another.17:27Config group if you want to. I know that there's a lot of the new stuff and, you can ask him that you're running the old UX 1.0 and.17:35As as we mentioned, you have this conversion two that helps you to convert all the configurations that I had before to the new configuration. It works, it's a you know from time to time has been developed with more features with.17:51More stuff. If you find if the tool is not able to convert everything, you're gonna see a message that the tool is going to give you, and they in your screen saying oh this you know this configuration was not able to, to, to convert, and then you go there and.18:09You check and configure it manually. But for most of the features.18:28This works very well and anastassia, I think Anastassia are just to the chat already right to use the conversion two. So this is I mean there are as I said, there are a lot of stuff.18:33But, we decide to highlight these three major enhancements that we believe that impacts your operation in a daily basis. And then let let us show you and as show you shows this to you in a.18:51Live environment, let me.19:11Let me stop sharing and stuff I think you can share. Yes. You can see my screen, right? Yes. Yes. Perfect. So let's go over a lab configuration and see what you expect.19:14Pointo and twenty.fifteen twenty.eighteen really look like in a real environment. So we have two labs here. One is in twenty.fifteen.19:33That we are going to go through and the next one is in twenty.eighteen because as you can see, more or less they look the same. The major updates were done from twelve, from 14 to 15 as we have the new layout, the new dashboards and stuff. And I have both lasts because I wanted to highlight what Marcelo.19:43Said in the beginning about UX 2.2. In UX 2.2, what they wanted to do was streamline the dashboards that you see all over SD one and make them more.20:04Organized and more relevant to each other, which one of the biggest upgrades to that was the merging of the layer of the dashboards from the SD WAN manager and the SD WAN analytics. In this lab, we don't have enabled SD WAN analytics. As you can see here, it's very easy to add.20:14Actually activated if you proceed with the workflow that will pop up, you need to put in your authentication and if you have the it's very easy to just activate it and wait for some time for cloudops to set up the environment so that you have it integrated into your SD one dashboard. And after you have analytics.20:34Also enabled, you can see all the analytics features from inside the SD one manager, you don't have to go to a separate screen, separate connection and everything. And we have analytics here.20:54And also, in the applications, you can see that the engine is changing in the background where where we have analytics and we have application sites and all the different dashboards that we had in analytics separately before.21:06So, back to the SD WAN manager. In the new layout, we can see that the dashboards have changed. They have become more common with the other Cisco products, so it's more cohesive and holistic view that you have of the network. And we have, just like before, the different.21:23And the ribbon top with the summary of information that we need. 1st for our controllers, our one edges, certificates, licenses, and how many reboots happened in the last.21:4424 h in this case. And if we click on anything that is blue, like the devices or the controllers, we can go into the detailed information for that, which points us to the tab for the devices, e.g., in this case, I clicked on the manager so that it will show me the information about.21:55That we manage. And the same thing can happen with all the one edges, all the control components or all the certificates and licenses. If we go to the one edges again it brings us to the devices, but in this case we see all the edges that we have in the network.22:15
