So this is the 1st session in the series of inter site that we are having.00:10This session is focused on introduction to Cisco intercite, and we have three of us joining us from Cisco. I have Karthik with me, who is a customer success specialist and also Eric, who is again the customer success specialist. Both of them have huge experience in the industry and would be our speakers and.00:15Is for today's session. And I will also be one of the speakers into this session. Now for the people who are just joining us now, here is your time to join the slido. If in case you have not already done so. In the Slido quiz, we will be asking about some questions about your environment so that we can.00:35Cater to it a little more. So once you scan this QR code, you will be taken to the page. You can put your name there and you can then start answering the questions as we go through the questions in the session.00:55If they ask you for the passcode, it will be site and the code of this particular poll is entered, so you can enter all these details if you're going to.com and enter it or you can just scan this QR code that is visible in front of your screen.01:13Okay, now this slider will be going on throughout the session and once the Slido questions come up, you can still join to the Slido from those sites as well. So I will move on. So what do we have in today's session?01:31As you saw from the name of the session, it is introduction. So we will be covering few brief aspects of what inter site actually is. So what is intercite? Let me bring up my pointer. So we will cover what is intercite. It will be a brief overview of what it is, what.01:45Does it do and what all can you achieve from it? Then another very important part, the licensing aspect, what does the licensing look like? What are the different license tiers that there are, what are the features that are supported in each of those license tiers and what advantage do you get in the different license tiers that you have?02:05After that, we will go on to the consumption models again, very important aspect, whether we talk about a SaaS deployment or the appliance deployments that we have, what they are, what are the differences, what can we expect out of them? What are the advantages in each of the consumption models? We will be covering those.02:26Then the supported systems, what are the systems that you can claim onto inter site? That is something that we will cover in the 4th topic of our session. The 5th topic will be device connector. So this is the actual software that is important and.02:45Involved in claiming the different devices that there are that are supported on inter site. We will also have a demo at the end of this session of this topic. And finally, a huge concern that a few people have regarding inter site by hearing that some of the endpoints will be connecting to intercite. So they have a.03:01Bit of security concerns, so we will try to cover that as well and try to ensure that you do not have any other security concerns related to inter site after this session. So this is what our entire agenda will look like throughout this session.03:21If you have any questions, please feel free to put them in the Q and A panel on the bottom right of your screen. You can access the Q and A panel on the three.menu on the bottom right of your screen. If you are unable to find it, you can also mention your questions in the chat section.03:35Just chat section might get a little clumsy to find out the actual actual responses to your questions. That's why we recommend using the Q and A panel, but if you are unable to find it, you can put your questions in the chat section as well and we will be more than happy to help you. And in case you want to ask any questions live, you can raise your hand.03:50And we will assist to unmute, we will help you to unmute yourself and you can ask the questions live as well. So with that, I will now go ahead and start this session. Okay.04:09So what is inter site? So intercite is a platform which provides a single pane of glass view to your entire DC infrastructure. What all are the advantages that you can get?04:26Once you start using inter site, you can 1st connect all of your infrastructure across compute, networking, storage, and virtualization, whether we talk about servers, whether we talk about switches, whether we talk about ACI Nexus dashboard, even the storage solutions like hyperflex or even 3rd party solutions from people.04:43All those are supported. Even if you talk about virtualization, we have support for vCenter and you get a lot of options.05:05To even view and some management that you can do from inter site itself if you claim your center on inter site. So this is what you can achieve or what you can do.05:12To control your environment. So to control your environment, there are some abstracts that we have on inter site. Now this is more of an introduction to these aspects. In our next session that is coming up next week, you will have a lot more.05:29Insights on how all these works, the next session and also the 3rd session that we have. So in inter site you configure everything in terms of pools, profiles, templates, and policies. So pools are nothing but collections of your identities, whether it could be the IPs, the max, the wwns, and all those.05:45Any configuration that you need to do will happen in terms of policies. There will be different kinds of policies, compute policy, networking policies, storage policies, boot order policies, and there are plethora of policies that you can configure on intercite. You will have profiles, a collection of those policies to be assigned to a server is done through a profile.06:05And you can create a template from which you can derive profiles as well.06:25This is just a brief overview. You can get more details in our future sessions. Next, we move on to visibility. So when you start onboarding your devices onto inter site, you get a lot of visibility as well on intersite. You have dashboards, you can create your custom dashboards, you can create your custom widgets, you have access to metrics that.06:29Are there in terms of power, temperature, usage, all those kind of metrics, all those kind of widgets are.06:49Present right in front of you and you can customize them. You can customize the widgets, you can customize the dashboards, everything is possible on inter site. So you can see all of those, you can get a virtual or a visual representation of your servers and the components inside it.06:55You can see the alarms, the advisories, you can see HCL. Now this is a very interesting feature that inter site has. It does a compatibility check between your hardware, your software, and your drivers that you have within the servers, and it gives you the best possible com com combination.07:12And if something is not suited for that environment, you get an option to update the driver or update the software from inter site itself. You can go to the link and download it from there. You have metrics as I talked about, you have topology view as well. So you can get a view of how your.07:29Endpoints are connected to each other, how the fabric interconnect is connected to the chassis and all those view is visible to you. You also have contact status which you can see from inter site. Okay, then we come to the deployment and automation. So any kind of configuration that you can do as we talked about in.07:47In the profiles policies and templates. So all those can be done. You can also automate a lot of things using the workflow designer that is present.08:07On the site. Again, this is a brief overview, but you will have a details session in the 3rd session that we have in the series. So you can create automation workflows like this. So this workflow is to.08:17Install 1st deploy the configuration on a profile and then install OS on top of it as well. So all these can be done through a single flip. You can just provide some of the input criterias or input parameters and you can just.08:33Install everything in this one click through this automation workflow. You can not only do it from Intersight, but you can also use tools like Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Terraform. You also have option of using intersite APIs, SDKs, all those are there on inter site itself.08:48You can go to inside.com/API docs and you can get.09:08A lot of these automation aspects right there over there. Next, we come to the security aspect. Now intercite ensures that everything that it does, it does it securely, whether we talk about the transmission of data from one point to the other, everything is encrypted, everything.09:11And is ensure that it is still the most security that is possible. We also have a lot of security certifications that are present for inter site, so it ensures that everything that you do is hundred percent secure as well. Okay, so we come to the 1st question of Slido.09:31So I just, we just would like to know whether you are using inter site to manage or monitor your environment or not. I see a few people already putting in their votes.09:51Okay, I see around six people have already caffed their votes. More are joining in. As many more people start putting in the votes so you can understand.10:09That what are the current challenges that you're facing or what is the current scenario that you're having with intersite so that we can better cater to your solutions and we can try to solve them in this session and also in this series that we are running throughout this month.10:25Okay, I see around 15 people have put in their responses. I am not sure, ok. We have around 80 people, so I am waiting for a few more people to join in. This is a very important aspect so that we can get a pulse of your environment. So if you can.10:43And quickly log into Slido and answer these questions. We will.11:02Be better able to give you our true sense on this issue that you are having. Okay, I see around 20 people responding to the quiz. Okay, if you have any challenges in joining, NO worries. We will have more soft questions.11:07You can put your votes in those questions as well and if you're not able to put your votes on Slido, you can mention your issues in the chat section in the Q and A panel.11:27And we will be more than happy to assist you there as well. Okay, I will move on to the next slide. Okay, now that we know a brief overview of what inter site is and what it can do.11:36We now move on to licensing. What are the different licensing tiers in inter site? How does it get strapped? How do you enable licensing on inter site? All these aspects we will try to cover in this section. So inter site currently has two licensed tiers.11:56That is essential and advantage. So anything that you would do on inter site is covered in the essential package. Every important aspect is covered in the in the essential package whether you talk about the monitoring inventory custom dashboard.12:14The policy configuration, firmware management, you also have 3rd party server operations from their HP. You can do.12:34Power rebalancing advanced QoS, all these options are there and some of the proactive features are also supported whether we talk about the security advisories, the field notices, that I was talking about, proactive RMA, it is again a nice feature to have in which if there are certain.12:43Things that happen to your hardware, whether we talk about the servers or any of the switches that you have if they are within the scope of this proactive RMA, if any of those issues are about to happen or.13:01Just happened on your environment. Automatically a RMA request will be generated and it will be sent to your mail as well. So you do not need to detect this issue on your own. The system will automatically detect that issue and send an RMA request.13:17To your account and you can just work on it and your RMA will be ready to be shipped. So this is another nice feature that we have. You also have connected tag. Now what the connected tag feature does is any device that is claimed onto inter site.13:34You can open a tag case right from inter site for that particular device. Now what advantage do you get by opening the tag case from there? 1st, you do not need to go and log into the portal to open the case, you can do it right from intersite and inter site you would be opening once every day at least. So.13:49You can open the from there itself. 2nd benefit that you have is that the tech support bundle or the log files that you need to upload separately. You can, you need to 1st download it and then upload it to the portal. This step is completely bypassed and.14:08You do not need to upload it separately. Intersight will take care of having that export bundle and log files ready and that can look into that log file without you having any manual intervention and you do not need to download and upload it. And again, you will also have the monitoring aspect.14:25But this covers the life cycle operations and the proactive support. But if you don't, if you feel like you're not happy with only these features and you want to venture into automation side or orchestration side, you can then move on to the advantage tier. In the advantage tier, you will of course have all the.14:44These features that are present in essential, but on top of that, you will have automation and workflow orchestration features as well. So those workflow that I said just in the two slides are just two slides before this. When I talked about the ones like.15:04Configuration and the OS install that is done through this workflow orchestration. You also have the option of so you can open your KVM console across the world. If you have advantage to your license and you want to access KVM of a particular server.15:22But you're not part of that network. You are traveling somewhere or you are somewhere else. You can open the tunnel PKVM and access the KVM console of that particular server regardless of where you are. You can do OS installation through inter site by this.15:39You have storage virtualization and network automation from here itself. You also have ServiceNow integration in that license. You also have ecosystem visibility and operations. So if you want to see Nexus MBS switches or you want to see the NetApp, your storage Hitachi.15:54CP.16:14All these kind of features if you want and you want to have visibility on some operations, then you need to go with the advantage tier. Now all these are there apart from that, you also have API and SDK features, you have health monitoring, the inventory and multi factor authentication. So all these features are supported on inside some.16:15Features are there in the essential here, all the features are present in that including the automation and the 3rd party ecosystem features that we see.16:35On the advantage tier. Now this is the advantage and essential tier. How does the licensing part look on intercite? So if you go to inter site, the licensing tab will look something like this. You will have two tabs under that, the compliance summary and the.16:44Smart licensing details. In the compliance summary you will see what all licenses do you have, whether are they all in compliance? How many of them are in use, everything you can see from this tab itself. In the smart licensing details, you get to see which smart licensing account are you using, whether you have enabled the subscription.17:00Detailed information or not. So all these kind of informations you can see from that particular tab, ok? Now in the actions you have these few options that is to sync the smart licensing. If you have purchased or modified any licenses in that smart account.17:20You can do a sync and all the licensing will be synced from there and you can enable the subscription information. Now this gets some additional information about the licenses such as the usage, the status and the expiration date. So you can enable that as well. If in case you want to.17:37Means the smart account that you want, that you have onboarded at 1st and you want to change it to something else, you can use this deregister smart license.17:57And of course you can also manage the products so you can set the default licensing tier for each other product under the managed products. So as I was talking about, you can change the licensing tier for a particular server as well. When you go to the three.menu on the right side of the.18:05Server.18:25You can go to set license tier and you will have these three options. You can set it to none, you can set essential or advantage. So in case you have a mix of maybe 50 essential tier license and maybe 20 advantage tier license, you can choose which server you want to have essential tier and which server do you want to have advantage tier, so that option.18:26Is there with you as well.18:46Okay, now that we have covered licensing, let us move on to the consumption models. So the 1st consumption model of Cisco inter site will be the model in which the inter site is hosted on the Cisco site itself. You do not need to deploy anything on your environment.18:49For inter site two. It is completely hosted by Cisco, it is completely taken care by Cisco and any new feature, any new functionality that comes to inter site will not require any downtime on the inter site services. It will be managed by Cisco.19:08And any new feature will 1st come to the SaaS platform. So if you are willing to experience the new features as soon as they're released, SaaS will definitely be the option for you. But some of the customers do.19:25Prefer to have appliance deployed on their environment, so in appliance we have two options. 1st is the connected virtual appliance. So this virtual appliance will be deployed on your environment, on your hardware, and you can deploy it.19:41On different platforms such as hyper V, KVM or ESXi. So all those options are available to you. You can deploy it on your environment and this appliance will have connection to some inter site services so that it can get the intelligence or the updated intelligence of intercite.19:57Can check for any software updates that are there for inter site, all those kind of things, it will do back and forth with inter site.com. Now one difference that I want to highlight here in SAS, all of your endpoints need to have access to the inter site services.20:17Here in the connected virtual appliance, only the connect this appliance needs to have access to inter site and the devices do not need to have any access to inter site. Devices will just communicate with this appliance and the appliance which will communicate with inter site. But there are some customers who have more strict requirements.20:34Where they do not want any communication to happen with inter site and everything should be private to their environment. For that we have this private virtual appliance where this gets deployed on your environment and there is NO communication with inter site so any upgrade that you need to do, you need to do it manually.20:54Even the intelligence upgrades that you need to do so that you have the updated advisories, the updated HCL information, all those have to be done manually for this environment. But of course, some customers do have this kind of requirements, so we have this option. So we have these three options.21:14Of the inside consumption. Now when we talk about SaaS, there are two places where the inter site SaaS is hosted, that is US in Virginia and also in EMEA we have in Frankfurt Germany. So these are the two places where we have.21:31Inside posted, you can choose between whichever a site that works for you. Our recommendation if you do not have any region list issues would be to go ahead with US because that was the 1st region that we started supporting, so.21:49We will just recommend you to go with US, but if you have any region list requirement, you can go ahead with EMEA as well. Okay, now whether you go with SAS or appliance will be completely dependent on your environment. If you are ok to.22:07Give access to your devices on port 443 only so a completely secure port and to only a few inside services, then it is always recommended to go with it has the latest features always available to you. You do not need to.22:26Do any upgrades on your end for this inter site appliance, everything is taken care by, by Cisco itself. You do not need any downtime on inter site when you go ahead with SAS, but if you have any security related requirements on your environment, you can go ahead with.22:44A CVA that is connected virtual appliance or a PVA that is a private virtual appliance according to your requirements. Now we will be sharing these resources of the whiteboard and the trust portal with you where you can get a lot more details on the various aspects of each of these and how trusted.23:00Each of them are. One more thing that I would like to highlight is the operation operational status. So to check the status of inter site whether it is up or not, you can go to status.intercite.com. For EMEA status you can go to status.EMEA.intersite.com.23:19And you can check the status from there. Okay, we come to 2nd question. So in this we would like to know which flavor of inter site are you using, whether it is inter site SaaS, whether it is connected virtual appliance, private virtual appliance or there could be cases in which you are not aware.23:36What is your team using? So you can mention that as well. Okay, I see at least few of the people using intercite SaaS, if others could also start to vote in.23:55It will be good to see, ok? I see some more people starting to work it in. A lot of people are using some of you are not aware that is also completely fine. Okay, we have a couple of people using connected virtual appliance also and a few people using private virtual appliance.24:11Again, as many more people of you vote, we get a better understanding of how it looks like in your environment and we will try to cater not just this session, but our entire series based on the.24:31Responses that you give in this side of questions so that we can better cater to your environment and your requirements. Okay, I see a lot of people using that is good to see, but we still have few people in the site using the site connected virtual appliance, and some of you are not.24:49Not aware, there could be cases that some of you are not using intercite. So after this session hopefully you start using intercite and you can choose between which flavor of inter site works best for you, whether it is SaaS connected virtual appliance or private virtual appliance.25:09Okay, we have around 20 people who have voted it in. Again, if you are unable to vote, you can put your comments in the chat section as well. We will look into that as well. You can put any concerns that you have in the chat section as well.25:26I will move on. Okay, now we come to the fun part. How do you get started? This is the more hands on aspect after the educational side or.25:43After learning how things are there, now we get going with how to get started. So in SaaS, you can choose between US or EMEA as I was talking about. To get started with SAS, it is very simple. You just need to do two or three steps and you are set. You.25:58Get started with Intersight. So what do you do? You go to inter site.com, you have an option called create a new account, then you choose whether you want to go ahead with US or EMEA and then you can give a name to your account and then done. That's all that you need to do for inter site. You have.26:16Have your own account set.26:36If you want to see more details on the various aspects of intersite SaaS, you can go to intercite SaaS help center. You can search Intersight Help Center and you'll directly go on to that portal. You'll have more information about the features, you will have guides there, you will also have some videos which will definitely guide help you.26:38Now, why do you use? So some of these I already talked about, but I'll just reiterate it is completely Cisco hosted, so NO maintenance required. Upgrades are automatic because new features come there directly. There is NO issues with that.26:59There's NO scaling limit on insight. You can onboard as many servers, as many endpoints as you want, thousands and thousands of servers, there are, there is NO issues. You have option of integration with CX cloud.27:13You also have some of the features of inter site UCS servers that are present on site SaaS as well. Okay, NO need to provision resources as it is completely Cisco hosted. You can create your Cisco inter site SaaS account simply.27:30Then you can connect those devices to intercite.com and essential license tier is recommended at least for using inside. So what all do you need? You need a Cisco ID, then you can create us inter site account.27:47And then you can claim your devices. You can also configure NTPDNS and proxy on the device connector of the device. We'll go into a little more details about this in our demo as well. You can provide the NTPDNS and proxy configurations there.28:03And then you can go ahead and connect your device to inter site. So this is the entire workflow of creation of your account. You go to intercite.com, you create a new account, you log in using your Cisco ID and you just accept the offer and give a name to the account.28:19Then we come to the licensing part. So in licensing you have two options. One is to register your licenses through your smart account. For that you will need to generate a new token. That token will be used to register inside to the token.28:37And finally, you will select the default license tier for your servers under that intercept account. You also have the option of a trial of 90 days if in case the licenses are not delivered to your smart licenses yet, so you can start.28:52Using a 90 day trial that is supported by inter site as well. So yep, this is the entire workflow that it looks like and enough of talking now let us move on to the fun part, the demo. So for this demo part, I will now hand over the ball to Karthik so that he can show us how we can get started with intercites.29:09Yeah, thank you and hello everyone. To get started with the inter site let me go to the directly, go into the demo of sharing the screen. I hope I hope my screen is visible right now, correct? Yes, it is.29:31Okay, so this the this is the Cisco inter site where you'll be able to register or login into it into a into it and then you can manage your infrastructure. So with this like when to to initial start of this Cisco inter site, you gotta create account and.29:46Yeah, once and once you log in, it'll be asking you to select the region based on your location and availability like and also it has some specifications related to the the region like in selecting it and you can use the US East and then you can just select.30:05And agree to the terms and conditions and post which it will ask you to create the one, so let me put in my name as one and then it should be an unique account where it if if it is already there you should you should create new one depending upon the availability of the account and and once that is created.30:24You'll be, you'll be able to, if you have the registered smart licenses, you can directly go and register to your ACM and then you can have your registered license, if not you can start with your the trial version of it, which is of about 90 days and then which you can do all the similar functions as post that you will have to.30:45Renew it and once you get started, you'll be, you'll be seeing it as a as a initial step when you are new to the inter site or I would recommend you to go and let's start with let go and understand, understand and leverage the core.31:08Features what exactly the inter site does and what kind of dashboard operate and then the configure analyze and automate all these features and capabilities or the core values of the Cisco inter site.31:27So with that more efficient if you click on next and then you will see the the the guide will help you better understanding of the Cisco inter site and post which when you get started, this particular dashboard is where the your your SaaS is is fully loaded right now. And in this like you can custom.31:41Your widget with with the specific requirement of chassis or or if it is all like what exactly you you require like if it is like kind of like I need another summary of my entire infra so I can claim I can just add this widget to the tick to the dashboard.32:01So with this I can add multiple widgets, whichever is required to the organization and then you can have this in the monitoring dashboard. Post which like if you come down, here is where you can see this is completely a SaaS owned, this is you don't have to worry about any of the inter site features or any upgrade or any.32:19Of the infrastructure appliance what is what is going to happen and it's all been taken care by, by Cisco itself so you just have to onboard your your infrastructure, the DC infrastructure into it, and then you can you can manage and monitor it. So the dashboard will look like this and here is where you can, you can.32:39Time your device into the into the into the Cisco inter site and these are all the supported features and, you can climb all these devices into the into the Cisco inter site.32:59And and and and and also you can also have this software repository, the diagnostics and the audit logs, all will look similar to this and in your when you register in your account as well and you can also have your license added to it.33:15And it's right now it is in the trial license, so you can, you can also add your, the CCM into it and then you can also import your license features into this and you can manage your fabric. And the inter site also you can, you can also have your integrated system here and once this is added, you will.33:35Be able to add your flexport or any converged infrastructures into this, into this.33:55Yeah, with this over to you Ronak, now we will move on to the next part. So we talked about inter site SaaS. Now we will talk about inter site appliance. So, what.34:03Does appliance differ in? So appliance, you will need to deploy it on your environment. You will need some specific requirements for each kind of appliance or whether you want to have a medium deployment size or a large deployment size. So medium will have a set of servers that you can claim. In large you will have more servers and more.34:17That you can clean and you'll have scalability related related.34:37Considerations while choosing between medium and large. Now, what you need to do 1st, if you want to deploy an appliance is go to software.cisco.com, then you search with the product name of intercite.34:44And then you download the OVA, now this OVA will be common whether you want to go ahead with the connector virtual appliance or whether you want to go ahead with the private virtual appliance or assist appliance. This is just the baseline framework of.34:58The appliance, so this will have to deploy, will have to be deployed regardless of which appliance you go ahead with. The only difference that will be there will be in the sizing. So in the assist appliance you will require lesser amount of resources that you need to provide.35:16To it in PVA and CVA the resources will be more. That's the only difference. After you deploy this, then the next step will be specific to each kind of deployment, whether you want to go ahead with a connected virtual appliance or appliance or an assistantline. Again, if you want to learn more about these appliances.35:32You can go to this inter site help center, you can search inter site appliance Health Center, and you can go to that particular portal, you get information about the features, you'll get a lot of guides and you will also be able to see your videos explaining.35:52In the different aspects of it. Okay, now this is something that will come up after the deployment is successful. After your deployment is successful, you will see the appliance in an operational status. Now this is.36:08Visible to you in the FQDN of the plans. So if you see in the status page, now this is actually the VM console output on your system. So if you are using vCenter, if you go to the console of the VM.36:26Of the appliance, you will see something like this once the VM is completely deployed. You will see details about the web URL, which hypervisor it is using, the version of the appliance, if it a single node or a multi node.36:43We also have option to support multi node if you want to have HA on inter site that is also supported. The cluster nodes are mentioned what is the on which you can access it, the network configurations are mentioned and also the hardware related aspects, everything is mentioned in this particular status.36:58Set.37:19Now once this comes up, you can go to the FQDN that is mentioned here that is inter site CVA, this FQDN, you can log in there and then you can start the configurations on your CVA as well. Now this is just a brief overview, but to get more insights on how you can actually deploy.37:19Right.37:39A CVA and then configure the CVA and finally assign licenses to the CVA. I will again hand over the ball back to Karthik so that he can walk us through this demonstration. Yeah, so I I believe like let me share my screen. You guys know where to download the software.37:40It is.38:01Go into the software downloads and then, if you go into this downloads home and you can just click on this and then you can just go into the Cisco inter site appliances. This is where you will be, will be down.38:03Downloading on all these supported versions of the hyper V KVM and vsphere. So you can just download them and a similar way like that we have a recorded demo for one which is in the vSphere right now. Let me let me bring up that so that we can discuss more.38:22I hope you were able to see my screen. Yes, I can. Yeah. So, so with this, this the normal way how we, how we onboard the VM into like when we, when we mount the OVF template into the.38:52Into the vCenter and it will it will ask you to key in the resources and the VM details. The similar way you you got to do you got to input your requirements of the VM. Similarly where we have given us a CX UCS on this CVDM and then we just have to deploy the VM based on the requirement and.39:13And as initially mentioned by like the IP address what we have to consider on this has to be prepared well and then you have to key in the required IP address information and and and and the required details of whatever is listed as the prerequisite DNS server and all these informations.39:32The username and password here is where you have to give your your password and informations and once this is deployed, I'll just I'll just not run through.39:52Run through everything like just not show when until the VM spin up, I'll just come to the to the last part where the VM is getting loaded and once this is loaded, you will see a page similar to this, what we have discussed before.40:04Once we, after launching the KVM console, and you will be able to see this bar which is starting through the inter site appliances getting installed, and once this is done, you will similarly see this particular information. Let me stop here and once you log in with the username and password, what you have created while the VM deployment, use that.40:25And here is where that the testing will happen. Like you can, you can initiate the test, the diagnostic results of whatever the informations which you have keyed, you can verify that if it is reachable in the network so that you can claim the devices into the virtual appliance. So.40:45And this is how it gets started and then you can, you can, you can come up with this. And the post page after once the VM is spinned up, let me share you my the view of how the connected appliance will look like.41:04Yeah, once, once you log in into the VM, after, after the VM is loaded and you you got the reachability and then you give your FQDN and then you log in into this particular inter site and you can see all your the similar way how you saw the SAS, it will similarly look, look, look like the same and here.41:40But also you can have your claimed targets into the into this fabrics, but since we have already claimed a few of our fabrics, we can view it here and how do you differ like the SAS and the the intercept the CVA, the connected virtual appliance. If you come down and if you see this.42:00In the.42:20The settings where you have this internet and then connect. So if you see here a cloud connector this this is where you claim your device and the client code will appear here when it was a new installation. So with that you go to your SaaS account and where you have created the, the, the.42:24Last inter site account and then you climb it over there. So this is where you have your, your, your CVA is being added to it.42:44And you can have a similar way you can have your servers added to it and chassis and also you can do your configuration profile templates and the the policies how we create in for the boot policies and the and the NTP and all the policies can be created here.42:52And the pool the the IP Mac UAD and WNN and PN pools all can be created in here. The similar way how you have it in the SAS, it will appear the same in the one difference is like you do you have to when it is a SAS, you have, you don't have to worry about the infrastructure, what are the scaling up or if you wanted to increase your.43:12Storage or anything to it is the secondary, but in here which you have to manually manage it and then do require check the system requirement accordingly and then increase the resources. If it is a SAS, it is all taken care of by Cisco. What these are the differences between the CVA PVA and then the SaaS.43:32Plans. Yep over to you and then sure thank you Karthik. Again, there are a few questions in the Q and A panel if you can work on them by the time I share my screen and explain my part.43:52Okay, ok, thank you for the demo as Karthik also mentioned, you just download the OVA from software.cisco.com.44:12Deployed giving the proper inputs of the IP, the resources that it requires, then set up the CVA, give it configurations and assign the license that it requires, and then you can get started with insight from there.44:28Okay, now that we know how to deploy a CVA or how to get started with account, now let us see what are the supported systems in inter site.44:45So these are the few highlighted systems that are currently supported on intersite. Now we can talk about Cisco UCS, which is definitely one of the main endpoints that get claimed onto intercite. So you can have UCS.45:02In terms of a standalone server, you can have it inter site managed in a inter site managed mode. So if your fabric interconnects are running in the IMM mode, you can go ahead and claim them. Even if you are running a UCS manager.45:21Manage more, you can still claim it onto inter site that is also there. Apart from that, you can claim Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco MDS switches both are supported. Next, if you come to infrastructure with Cisco UCS, you have Cisco hyperflex, which is.45:40Going to be end of life soon. So if you have Cisco hyperflex and you need any support of migrating Cisco hyperflex to Cisco hyperconverged infrastructure in terms of Nutanix, you can reach out to us. I just pasted our mail ID in the chat section in one of the responses if you have.45:58Have any such requirement of requiring a help in which you want to convert from a hyperflex to a Nutanix based solution, you can reach out to us and we will be more than happy to help you. But yeah, you can still flame hyperflex and Nutanix based Cisco UCS.46:18Servers onto your inter site in terms of a cluster, so you will claim a cluster whole as a whole and you'll get all the visibility of a cluster from inter site as well. Then if we talk about server virtualization, you can claim VMware V center. You can also claim Nutanix Prism central.46:36Both the options are visible to you and you can get a lot more visibility by claiming these two onto inter site. You also have support for ITSM and SCA SIEM, so if you have intercite advantage license, you can integrate ServiceNow with your inter site. You also can.46:56Currently have connectivity with Splunk, which is a recently acquired Cisco company as well if you want to.47:15Have more visibility across your entire infrastructure, not this DC, you can start using Splunk and you'll get a lot more insights of your entire infrastructure regardless of which technology it is. Similarly, you also have support for 3rd party storage solutions, whether we talk about Hitachi NetApp or your storage.47:23All are supported and can be claimed onto inter site as well. You also have support for 3rd party servers whether all the servers are also possible to be claimed onto inter site by using a 3rd or by using a package called as inter site Assist appliance. We were talking about.47:43Just before this. So inter site assist appliance.48:04Becomes that middleman that communicates between inter site and the 3rd party servers, so it communicates with the 3rd party endpoints using their own APIs and communicates that back to intercite. So all these 3rd party solutions can still be integrated onto inter site.48:08So these are supported. Now this is an example of connecting Cisco solutions to inter site in SaaS. How does that happen? So in inter site.48:25Communication with Cisco solutions. You have something called as a device connector. Now device connector is nothing but a software package that is included with any Cisco target that is supported to be claimed onto inter site. So what do we mean by that? Any UCS servers.48:40Any fabric interconnects that you are going to claim, any hyperflex servers, all those have device connector embedded within them. This device connector acts as the communicator between inter site and the device on which it is.48:59Present. So there is a secure communication that happens between the device connector to inter site through internet. It is through a outbound communication. So intersight does not fetch any information from here.49:17Is always an outbound communication from the device to inter site, which makes it even more secure so that NO 3rd party can fetch any information from the device by itself. It is always an outbound communication from the device connector to inter site. And that also happens through port 443.49:37With socket enabling bi directional communication that happens between it. So we ensure that it is a completely secured communication involving encryption and it happens from a secure channel as well. So this is how the communication completely looks like.49:57With your Cisco target and inter site. You also have the option of an optional proxy configuration in case you do not have direct internet communication with the target or with the server, you can have a proxy somewhere here and you can have the communication through the proxy as well for all of your.50:15Devices even that is supported.50:35Now when we talk about connecting a 3rd party solution to inter site, it is done via an assist appliance. So the assist appliance is again similar to the appliance that we set up. So when you download the OVA, you deploy it after that you select assist appliance as.50:38The deployment method and then this assistant plans will help you to communicate and claim any 3rd party devices. So once the assistant plans is deployed, this is the FQDN of the assistant plans. When you want to claim a 3rd party device, you go to system targets.50:58Then go to claim a new target and then you select maybe we center target, e.g., here.51:17Then apart from the IP address, the username and password, you will also have an option to select the assistant plan. Your environment might have one assistant plans or multiple assistant plans. You can have a single that is not an issue. If you have a single, just select that particular plans, if you have multiple select the assistant appliance that you want to use.51:23To claim this particular vCenter endpoint, after that provide the IP address, the credentials, that is the username and password and then the claiming will happen and the vCenter will be connected to inter site as well. Yeah, one key thing to note here.51:42Is if you have deployed CVA or PVA on your environment, then you do not need to deploy assist separately. Assist is integrated within CVA and PVA that is connected virtual appliance or private virtual appliance and you do not need to deploy assist separately. You can just use the.52:03Appliance in CV or PVA to claim the 3rd party target without deploying an assist appliance separately. So you only need an assist appliance if you have account. Apart from that inter site assist appliance is not required for your environment.52:23Okay, again, a slider question the 3rd one. So what endpoints are claimed onto inter site in our environment? And these are multiple choice answers, so you can select multiple options as well.52:42So select all of the things that are claimed onto your account. Okay, I see some people starting to work it in. Again, if anyone has joined us recently, you can.52:57Join us using the QR code that is mentioned here. Then you can use the passcode of site, you can provide your name and then we can see all of your responses. Okay, I see majority of you are having UCS servers hyperconverse servers maybe.53:13We centers are claimed. Some of you also have MDS on exist switches, some of you have 3rd party servers, I see few people having Nexus dashboard as well. Okay, there are NO one who has claimed that ECA.53:36As of now, but the votings could change. I see around ten people have voted in. I'll give it a few more seconds so that people can vote in their responses. I see around ten people.53:53If more of you respond, we will be able to understand your environment and we will be trying, we will try to cater this session and clarify your doubts accordingly through this session as well. Okay, I see around 15 people.54:09Voting in. Okay, we have around 16 people. So currently what we are seeing is we have most of you claiming your UCS service and hyperflex, which is kind of expected.54:28So we are, we can see that. Then we have MBS on the inter site that is nice. We also have a few people who have claimed that we center that is really good to see. We have some people who have claimed the nexus dashboard. Are you in a great thing?54:45We also have some people using 3rd party servers and some or a few people who have claimed that ACI. Now, we will come to another question at the end of the session to understand if you have any concerns, security related concerns, if you have them, we will try to cover that at the end of the session. We will have a.55:02New sites covering the security aspects and how secure inter site is and what are the different considerations that we take so and to ensure that the trust is there on inter site. But yeah, good to see a lot of people voting it in. Thank you for all your votes.55:22And we will ensure that this feedback is taken throughout this series and we cater according to these responses in our future sessions as well. Thank you for the responses. Again, if you are not able to vote, please feel free to use the chat section to put in your comments and put in your questions. We will be more than happy to answer them.55:41Okay, now that we know about the claiming aspect, we need to talk a little bit more about the device connector and how it works. It will just be a brief overview, but we wanted to show how it looks like.56:00So the device connector is a lightweight process that collects the inventory from the servers and allows it to execute actions across the different systems. So what does that mean? It collects the information that is present on the particular server or the chassis of.56:18The switch and transmits it to inter site and inter site when it requires to perform any tasks if e.g. a user asks inter site to turn off the server, then inter site sends this.56:38Communication to the device connector on the server, and then the device connector acts on that instruction to power up the server and communicates with the server that the server has to be powered off and the server gets powered off. So it becomes that middleman between the server or whatever endpoint it is and inter site.56:56To provide a secure communication between the endpoint and inter site. So that is all that it does in terms of the device connector. Now when we talk about 3rd party devices, there is an inter site assistant virtual appliance that is, that gets involved. So this assist appliance has a device connector.57:15That communicates with intersight. So there is a communication between them, but the assistant appliance itself has access to the 3rd party APIs that are present on these solutions, whether we talk about vCenter, whether we talk about.57:36The so it communicates with 3rd party in their own APIs and gives this visibility from here to intercite. And also there are few actions that you can perform on inter site for these particular.57:533rd party solutions as well. So again inter site provides that instruction to the device connector here, it converts that communication to those assistant appliance, then the assist appliance forwards this information in the 3rd party API form.58:11For the instruction to work. So this is how the entire workflow looks like, whether we talk about Cisco solutions here or whether we talk about 3rd party solutions. Okay, now this again highlights the communication that is a secure communication HTTP.58:27Yes.58:47Whether we talk about Cisco direct communication between Cisco hardware and inter site or maybe a 3rd party through a system plans all happens through a secure channel of 4443 through HTTPS. Okay, so how does the device claim happen?58:48So you need to allow the device connector to communicate with Intersight that allow you need to.59:08A provide, then you will have an inter site device connector will start communication and will generate a two Fa token. Then you claim the device entering the serial and the two of the token on inter site.59:14So this entire process will be shown to you in the upcoming demo. So you will have a device ID and a claim code that will act as a two FA two FA authentication and the device ID is fixed for a particular device, but the claim code is a refreshing code that gets refreshed every 2 min.59:29So it keeps updating so that it ensures that it is more secure and even if it gets leaked for some reason, it cannot be used after that 2 min interval.59:49The code will expire and it will not work if it if the 2 min expired and you need to use a new port after that to clean that particular device. Once it is claimed after that you do not need to worry about anything anything and it will stay cleaned and you can go ahead and manage and monitor that particular device.01:00:00Without any issue. Then you clean that particular device onto inter site, then the device starts exchanging data with intersight. It exchanges the inventory related information, what inventory does it has, what are, what is the software that it is running?01:00:20Intersight also communicates and checks the various intelligence related aspects, whether it is affected by any advisories, whether it is affected by any field notice, all these checks are done after the device gets cleaned onto inter site. Now.01:00:37Again, if we talk about via the inter site assist for any 3rd party device, you allow the device to connect to inter site assist appliance. You need to have network communication between the server or the endpoint that you want to claim and the system plans, so there need to be a network communication.01:00:53And you need to claim the device using IP and credentials on inter site. Now here we saw authentication through the device ID and claim code, but if you are using inter site assist or if you are using even an appliance, whether it is connected virtual appliance or private virtual appliance.01:01:10Then that has to be done through IP and credentials on that particular.01:01:30Endpoint. And finally, the inter site assist starts exchanging data with the device and forwards it to inter site. So assist gets the information or data from the device or the server and communicates it up to inter site. So this is how the entire chain works like. And again, this will.01:01:36Shown in more details in the demo where you will have a clearer picture. So for that, I will now hand over the ball to Karthik so that he can show how the claiming process works and also give a brief overview on the inter site portal itself, how everything looks like in the different tabs on inter site. So over to you.01:01:55Hey, thank you. With that said setting up the the connected virtualization and the connected virtual appliance and stuff and the climbing device. So before that let me start with the the license registration, which we'll just share the screen. I hope you're.01:02:15Able to see my screen, right?01:02:35Yes, we can. Okay, when you go into the, the, the, the license central portal, we have the SCM. Okay in the SCM, you just generally how do you create your instance and then the product instance and you claim it similarly, you just create your token and then you just.01:02:37Given your name and and and add those informations like the token, what exactly how many number of users and stuff. And then when you do here, you copy the token, the created token and then you come into the Cisco inter site and then you just go keen here and then you just register this license.01:02:56With this registration license, it will get verified with your with your license portal and then the required licenses from the from the SCM will be transferred will be seen in this inter site as well. So this is one of the license registration which is important before you onboard any of your devices in.01:03:17Into the into the inter site.01:03:36And with that, I just wanted to get another decline process. So here, here, here we will be doing climbing the standalone.01:03:40The the standalone fabric, ok, the standalone server which I will be which will be claimed in this. Let me get you that. Yeah, I hope you're able to see my screen. Once you log in into the SIMC and and you just, you just have to go to the device.01:03:59Device connect and then you use here we just unclaiming it I'm just showing you from the device connect, ok? You just go here, add the select the server.01:04:18So like exactly what the C series rackmount server which we are trying to onboard here and what you need is the device ID and the claim code. For that you go into the SIMC and then go to the device connect and from here you just you just copy the device ID and then the claim code.01:04:30And then it'll, you can just add them here and then once, once you're the reachability of the network for this particular IP if it is reachable so that it can, it can, it can climb here and then it can get registered with the inter site.01:04:50So once it is registered, you can, you can just, you can just see the connection status disconnected to the inter site Similar way you can come here and click on the target is claimed here, you can click on it and view what exactly the IP address and what is given the name and the standalone server and all this stuff and then.01:05:07You can just click on to the infrastructure services and click onto the server where which we added right now and you can also view the complete detail about the server inventory and then if there are any sort of inventory and then the hardware compatibility list.01:05:27And statistics if there are any sort of error or anything rear and front end view, all these things can be viewed in this in in this G one.01:05:47So, with that said, this is how you climb. The similar way when you when you are climbing it in your in your connected or the private, you have to key in your IP address and the username and password of the, of the server for it to the UCSM or anything, any device which you have to climb it on your.01:05:58Connected virtual appliance, you have to use your IP address and the username and password to climb it. Whereas in this you have to use only your claim ID and the and the claim code, device ID and the claim code to add it, to add it into the SaaS.01:06:18And let me bring up my GY for the let's explore what exactly which is there. And once you log in you will see, you will be able to see the accounts whatever is is listed. Currently I'm just logging into my lab environment, so where I can show.01:06:34To you the the details. The the few one of the question in the in the Q and A where we can have the software repository can be loaded. So and we can give this is where you can have your software repository and then your OS link or SCM link into this and you can, you can push the conflict.01:06:54Or the custom conflicts into the VMware and then where you can, you're also you can have your firmware versions which are uploaded, which can be uploaded into it and you can do upgrade from the the voices can be seen from here as well to the to the to the servers too.01:07:14Here we have so few of the Ubuntu servers and VMware ESXi and all all the softwares are loaded. It can be used as the, as a report to upload into the required, if there is any new server requirement comes up, you can spin up your the server from here too, and also.01:07:32So this system here is where you climb your targets and.01:07:52If you can see here, if I filter, I can show you my connected appliances as well. Like if I click on to the type and if I click on my inter site, the one which I have the CVE, the, the, the, the.01:07:57Said which all appliances. That also can be added into this inter site appliance. You can see this.01:08:17This particular appliance, the connected virtual appliance, which is this, is being climbed into my inter site, and this is the one which has been climbed into this inter site as well. This is the SaaS account where it gets directly connected. And similar way you can also have your diagnostics and then.01:08:25The audit logs and and and.01:08:45And based on the user changes or anything which you can see here, audit logs can be viewed from here and also the resource group and, and how do we add your the resources into the groups in, in the part and we can be done through this as well. And when it comes to the operation view, like here is where you can see your.01:08:49Servers and the health status of it and the power of how many servers are powered off on and the comp hardware compatibility list also can be available in this view. And you can also have this in a, in a firmware version and utility to the storage and and what sort of models are being added.01:09:09And if what what is the contract status, the profile, and all these can be listed here and and you can also see the chassis if there is any chassis environment like the chassis five one or the FI managed chassis can be added, the fabric interconnects can be added here into this and if you click on this.01:09:29You can also look into the fabric interconnect where I am more, what sort of inventory you have, what sort of a device and what is the alarm, what is the power supply issues, whatever right now which you are facing in, and then you can also click on to the connections, you can you can check your networks and also you can click on your UCS.01:09:49Profile and topology. These sessions will be taken care in the in this series of year session in the in the in the upcoming sessions as well. This is just a overview glance about the Cisco inter site, how does it look into it?01:10:09And, and there is another network the the Nutanix cluster which also can be added into this and the the visualization part and and you can have your the profiles and the templates all can be managed from here. One, another thing here is where like you can, you can.01:10:22You can also see the requests of what is being operate here and the execution state, whatever the request comes in can be added and also you can also see here the advisory board how what exactly if this CV is being impacting your environment, it just gets listed here based on the property.01:10:42Priority which can be looked in, looked into it and then taken necessary actions according to your environment requirements. And it also lists about the field notice and the end of life advisories and also you can also see whatever has been acknowledged, whatever the list of advisories have been acknowledged to your environment can be also looked into.01:11:03This.01:11:23And with that said, we also have the data types as one of the question about the automated workflows, here is where like some of the automated workflows can be created and managed and the tasks also can be assigned, and this also can be integrated with your with your.01:11:24Tool external ticketing tool or anything so that it can, it can, it can trigger an alert and then assign to based on your integration with your AD.01:11:43So these are all the overview about the about the Cisco insight dashboard. Yep over to you. Okay, now we come to the inside security features.01:11:53Now we do use all the industry standards security protocols to ensure that all the security standards are met and we ensure that every data that we handle.01:12:10Is securely handled whether we talk about data in motion or data at risk. Similarly, we also encrypt all the data, so we ensure that any data that is there is all encrypted.01:12:23And it is in compliance with stringent Cisco infosec security and data handling standards. So we all we ensure that everything comes under all of these when we try to design any new thing regarding inter site and right from the day when it started.01:12:38It's journey inter site architecture has always followed all these standards to ensure that every data is securely stored. Now when we talk about encryption and secure data communication, as we said.01:12:55Every communication happens through HTTPS or TLS connectivity so everything happens to port port through port 4443 with restricted ciphers and all data is encrypted using AES.01:13:10So all the data that communication that happens happens through an encrypted channel, so that data in motion is also taken care of. Every day device communication to the portal is authenticated with the cryptograph cryptographic token.01:13:26So again, any kind of authentication that is done is done through that as well and inside platform also presents a certificate signed by a CA so that we can ensure that only a trusted inside.01:13:43Endpoint can communicate with the server and NO one else can communicate. So we ensure all of these are there so that the communication that happens happens securely. Then we also have one more feature on inter site that is the inter site role based access control.01:13:58So you have different aspects or different features on inter site as well. Okay, so we have something called as privilege. So privilege gives us the set of access that a user can perform. A set of actions that a user can perform and what kind of access.01:14:18It will have is set through privilege. You also have something called as role. So a role will have different set of privileges. So a role defines what all actions can a user perform. What all collections of actions can a user perform?01:14:38Is done through a collection of privileges which are assigned to a role. So enables a user to perform a set of operations. You have system defined roles, so there are account administrator, system analyst.01:14:54Type storage and and administrator, so there are a lot of roles that are system defined I think approximately over ten to 20 system defined roles are automatically there, and these are assigned to specific jobs that we thought.01:15:12Would be useful to most of our customers, so we define them according to different criterias. We will come to the different criterias in the future as well. And you also have user defined roles, so you can create your own rules as well. If you're not satisfied with the system defined roles that there are, you can create your own using the user defined roles.01:15:28So a user is an entity that can log into a specific role on intercite. So if you want to give access to inter site to a particular person, you need to create a user for that particular person by mentioning his email account. So you need to provide the email account that the user will be using to log into intercite.01:15:49And create a user for that particular person. Similarly, you have a group, so a user can be assigned to a group. A group is nothing but a collection of users with a specific role you can do. You can assign specific roles to it, you can assign specific privileges to a group, you can assign specific permissions to a group.01:16:09Similarly to a group for users, you have a group for resources as well. So the resource group is nothing but all of your hardware or all of your endpoint that you claim onto inter site, you can assign them under a resource group. So this resource group will act like a group of those resources.01:16:28So you have a group of users, you have a group of resources, you can assign different groups of resources to different groups of users, you can assign a particular resource group to a particular user or you can assign a particular resource to a particular group of users as well.01:16:46So all of these is possible because we have so granular role based access control. You also have organizations, so this enables multi tenancy, you assign a resource group to an organization and you also assign a group or a user to an organization and that defines which user.01:17:02Will have access to which resource. So all of these.01:17:22Is enabled through these resources, through these RBAC options that you have, and not just the resources, you can also be more granular and only allow a specific user to maybe.01:17:27Install the OS on a particular server, but you do not want to give that user access to power of that server. You can do such granular role based access control on inter site as well. There are system defined roles, there are also options to create your own roles. So all these will help you.01:17:43To ensure that you have the most granular control on which person can access what? Tightening the security even more in your environment. So this is how the users looks like when you are part of different.01:18:03Levels of access, you will have something like this. You also might have access to multiple inter site accounts. So there could be scenarios in which your organization has multiple insight accounts maybe segregated by regions.01:18:20Then it will look something like this on your screen when you go to.com and login using your email ID. Similarly, in the configuration page, you can go to the accounts section here and under that you'll have users, groups and roles.01:18:36Then you can add a new role from here. So all these options will be present to you on inside itself. You also have the support to have identity providers or SSO, you can.01:18:56Use your own identity provider or your own SSO and you can integrate that on inter site as well. You will have the option of adding an identity provider on intercite. You can go there, you can provide the name, you can provide the domain name, and also you need to import the metadata.01:19:11And then you can start using the identity provider or SSO of your own. So this is also supported on inter site. Now this is one important thing that I wanted to highlight that is the trust portal.01:19:28So, as I already talked about in the last section that inter site will require some access to your devices especially when we are talking about deployment, your devices will need to have some connection to inter site.01:19:45Some services, some of the URLs of inter site. It is through port 443, but still some people might have concerns that, ok, why this communication is required or what are the data that inter site looks into to give the insights that it can give. It gives a lot of powerful insights, but for.01:20:02Being that powerful insights, it requires some of the data endpoints from your environment. So what are those data that.01:20:22Gets collected. All these information you can get to see on this portal, and we will put this link in the chat as well. But you can go through this link and you can see what data is collected and why is that data collected? What.01:20:29Use case is that data being used for. That being said, one more clarification that I would like to provide here is the start point that inter site only collects some data of the control plane. It does not touch the data plane at all. So you do not need to worry about the personal.01:20:47Data of the customer or the environment that you have. Intersight does not have visibility to any data plane data. It only fetches some of the control plane data such as the device ID, the alerts that gets triggered. All those kind of data it.01:21:06Takes so that it can provide intelligence to your end, to your environment. E.g., for the advisories or the field notices to work, it needs to know what kind of server is running on their environment. If it does not know what server it is running, it cannot give.01:21:25Proper intelligence update that, ok, this advisory has come up from Cisco and this is impacting this particular devices on your environment. For that it requires to know what endpoint it is running, what is the hardware inside that device that it is running. For those only we collect.01:21:44This information from your endpoint, NO NO other purpose of collecting that in yeah so the only reason that we are collecting those information is to give those advanced analytics on your endpoint, on your environment so that you can.01:22:00Take action much faster and it does not impact your environment in a large scale. We'll put this link in the chat. It has a detailed information on everything that I talked about just now. Okay, now after we talked about all the security aspects, very important question.01:22:17Do you still have any concerns regarding claiming your endpoints to intercite?01:22:37Whether we talk about your UCS servers, your hyperflex servers, your ACI, your Nexus dashboard, do you still have any concerns or are you ok to claim your devices onto inter site in future? In case you have not already done it? If you have done it, you can mention it as NO, I do not have any concerns, but if you have not done it yet.01:22:41You can mention it as you still have concerns and we will try to cover that in the Q and A panel that we have. Okay, I see few people already voting it in. Okay, I still see some people having those concerns. If you have still some concern, please.01:23:01Put them in the chat section. We will be more than happy to help you there. Okay, I see around 5050, so 50 % of the people are willing to claim their targets onto inter site.01:23:18It is definitely beneficial in your use case to claim your targets under site, even if the target is not having a lot of management and monitoring features, can we talk about ACI on Nexus dashboard, you will not have.01:23:34The level of management capabilities what you can expect from your controller e.g. or from your Nexus dashboard, e.g.. But does features such as connected tag that will work seamlessly with your inter site account when you have it integrated with Intersight. You do not need to download the log bundle from.01:23:50Dashboard and upload it to tag separately. That feature will be taken care from inter site itself. Any advisories that will be impacting your Apic controller or your nexus dashboard, any alerts, any kind of field notices, everything will be visible on your inter site portal itself. So all of these will be there on.01:24:12And the only thing you need to do for that will be to do that claiming part and you just need to copy the device ID and claim code from your Nexus dashboard or any other 3rd party or any devices that you have. Copy that from there.01:24:31If you are using of course and you will be ready to go. If you are using appliance, just you need to provide the FQDN, the username and password and you can start claiming it. Okay, so this.01:24:50Probably brings us to the end of the session. We have a few minutes for Q and A, so we will go ahead with that. I will stop sharing my screen and we will try to answer any questions that we have pending in the Q.01:25:05Questions. Okay, let me try to go through the questions that are remaining. I see there is one suggestion about the storage the the pure storage and the if we add them.01:25:21Tab so that.01:25:42Yeah, that is one of the question in the Q and A and yes. Yeah, and there is one thing like yes to some not the tag collects the files and upload to them like it does by default once you have the connected or a SaaS model.01:25:44Like you, you can directly initiate the once the case if you need a help, the support has been raised attack and directly fetch the logs from the inter site and do the analysis. So that is also.01:26:04Over here available in this. Okay. And yeah to answer that 1st question, it will be in a separate tab when you claiming your 3rd party devices and what else do we have? How do we give two separate.01:26:16How do you give separate user ID, password or two resource groups so that none of them log into each other's account? Let's say ok so resource group is a concept in which you configure.01:26:31Your resources into two different groups. So e.g., you're talking about VMware and Linux team. So what you can do in that case is you have your vCenter as a target, you 1st name it onto inter site if it is not claimed already, then you assign that target into a resource group.01:26:48You assign that resource group to an organization, maybe you have organization called as a virtualization or something like that. You assign that resource group that to that organization, then that part is done. Next we come to the user part.01:27:07So you will have a user ID to a person, you give a mail ID login to a person and that mail ID login will be a user on inter site. Then you assign that user to the organization, the virtualization that we.01:27:22Need. You can also provide privileges in terms of the role that you want to give that user. So you select which role you want to give that user, how much privileges you want to give to the user, and then assign that user to that particular organization.01:27:37And that will ensure that that particular user will only have access to the resource group that is part of that organization. So that is how the mapping will look like. The organization will come on top and then you will have the user this site that will be mapped to the organization and the organization will be mapped to the resource group and that will ensure that the user only has access.01:27:52Access to the resource group. I hope that answered your question and similarly you can do for the Linux as well. Okay, any other question do we have?01:28:12I don't see any other question. Okay, how do we obtain and install certificate in ACI for inter site? Currently using for connecting ACI and CX cloud. What are other purposes that can be used in inter site?01:28:30Okay, as I was talking about, the connected tag part is definitely one of the advantages that you can expect when you claim your ACI to intercite. That saves a lot of your time of downloading the tech support bundle and the.01:28:49Log files that you download and then upload to tack, that is one and also you have access to the advisories, the field notices, the end of life notices, the alerts, all of those will be visible on inter site. You do not need to.01:29:05Go to ACI to see those monitoring kind of aspects for the alerts advisories and all. So that is one more feature that is supported when you start using intersite with ACI. And.01:29:22The best part about it is it's a very simple onboarding process. If you are using intersite SaaS, you just do authentication between them using the device ID and claim code. So yeah, one more thing that I would like to highlight is where you can find the device ID and claim code, the device ID and claim code will be present.01:29:36Under the admin tab on wherever you want to claim from, you go to the admin tab under that you have device connector, you claim using the device ID and claim code onto inter site if you are using the platform, if not, you can do it using the IP address and the credentials of your Apic on Nexus dashboard.01:29:55I hope that answered your questions and we are on top of the hour, so this definitely brings us to the end of the session. If you still have any more questions, we will be more than happy to answer them on the mail ID, so you can send out.01:30:15Ask your queries over meal.01:30:35I'll put the mail ID once again so that if people have any more questions, they can reach out to us there if you have any questions for this session or.01:30:37Anything regarding your DC environment does not have to be just inter site. You can reach us out and ask expert insights CI, so ask-expert insights-CI at cisco.com and we will be more than happy to help you.01:30:56So again, thank you all for joining today's session. It was great to have you all part of our session today and wonderful to have such conversations with you regarding your queries and your questions as well. Thank you for all your responses. Thank you for being with us till this time and we hope to see you in our future sessions. We will have our next.01:31:12Session on next Thursday at the same time.01:31:33That will be morely focused on the monitoring aspects of intersite and the features that there are on intersite. Please do join in and you will have more opportunities to ask your questions live in that session as well. We hope to see you in our next session and bye. Thank you all.01:31:35
