So our webinar today will be around extending inter site, the ecosystem integration. We are going to talk about the different options.00:00That you can integrate it with intersight. And the presenters today are Mesh and Alexandro Spagnes. We are part of the customer success specialist team covering Cisco compute technologies in EMEA. So, welcome again and thank you for joining.00:20And as usual before starting our webinar covering some logistical items, you can scan this QR code, it will route you to the Cisco community page to see the other webinars that we delivered in the same series or even to see the different, webinars delivered before and.00:39And in compute and in another technologies and then also there are already running webinars in the other technologies that you can check if you are interested and join as well.00:57Yeah, I'm going to put in the chat this link of the series, ok, for the community page so you can all see it. Thank you, Alex. Another thing that we are going to use Slido for the question and.01:07Answers. So if you have any question, please post it on the Q and A for Slido and we are going to answer throughout the webinar. You can join the Slido either by scanning the QR code here or you can join from the mobile or the browser going to slido.com, putting this hash code shown in the screen.01:27And the passcode that is Cisco with C capital. In order to make sure that you have joined our Slido are pushing our 1st question. We'd like to know more about you, where are you joining from? So this is the 1st question. Please take your time.01:47To join the, the Slido and answer our 1st question.02:06Okay, we can proceed and then we can come back to the answers.02:26Okay, we are going to keep that question active. So to start the session, our session mainly will be covering the different options for the ecosystem integration with inter site and the prerequisite of integrating with each of them. Then we'll be have like two slides covering Cisco Cloud control one.02:35What is it and what is the difference of like onboarding inter site normally or traditionally or through Cisco Cloud control. The demonstration, we are going to show demos for the virtualization storage integration, inter site plugin for red Hat and also the.02:55The demonstration of the inter site add on for Splunk. Those will be our main things to show in the demo. And at the end, we are going to answer your questions if still unanswered questions on the Slido and covering few few points to remember.03:15So, let's start. So in order to to introduce you to the ecosystem integration for inter site 1st, we need to make sure that you are familiar with inter site as a platform if you are not using it yet. Intersight came to me to be the single pane of glass for the management for the UCS infrastruct.03:32Structure. So whatever UCS server you are using, is it standalone blade in different data centers, it's running HCI on top of it, you can claim it to your inter site to manage it from one place instead of going to different management platform. And also inter site from inter site, you can do not.03:52Only the monitoring but also the management and the configuration where you can do the whole configuration of your server and have it your central repo for the configuration which make it easier whenever you do like refresh or expand that you can use the configuration. Also on inter site, there are automation or inter site cloud orchestrator where you can.04:12Can automate your daily task or regular workflows, whether from server provisioning to virtualization to storage and networking, you can leverage all of this if you are using the inter site cloud orchestrator too.04:32Before giving you the different options that you can integrate to inter site, we need to make sure that you understand the difference between the device connector and the inter site access. So in order to claim any device or any target to inter site, there is a like an intermediate.04:46The thing to to enable the connection or the communication between the inter site and the target. So if the target is a Cisco native device, then what you are using it is the device connector. You don't need to do anything. It's already existing by default in Cisco firmware, ok? And it you just make sure that it is enabled and.05:05It is the one responsible for creating the WebSocket communication between inter site and your Cisco target. And here like the examples of the native connection using the device connector, it is if you are using standalone server, if you're using fabric interconnect attached servers, whether it is UCSM managed or IMM, it is.05:25The communication is through the device connector. Also, if you are using Cisco UCS with Nutanix and using Prism Central to manage your infrastructure, you can claim your Prism central using the device connector on prism central. And if you are using Nexus and MDS switches, you can claim them as well.05:45Using the device connector, given that especially for the Nexus and the MDS, you can also claim them using Cisco inter site assist and we are going to explain the difference later. This is for the native Cisco devices, the device connector, it is the one responsible for that communication and it is through port 443.06:05Okay, so if you are using 3rd party device and you want to integrate it to inter site.06:25So the 3rd party device won't have the device connector. So what is the replacement for this? The replacement it is something called inter site assist, ok? And the inter site assist, this is like in case that you are using the SaaS version of inter site, you are, you need to deploy VM for the inter site.06:31Might assist, and it acts as a proxy for the communication between inter site and your 3rd party devices.06:51And if you are using the on prem version for inter site, then the on prem appliance itself, it can act as the inter site assist. You don't need to deploy this VM. You only deploy it in case that you are using the sass. So what are the targets or the 3rd party targets that need inter site assist to communicate or to be claimed to it.06:59Intersight, these storage vendors like Hitachi, NetApp, Everpure, and also VMware vCenter.07:19So, going directly now to the different integration options that we have it with inter site. So 1st integration, as we can see here on the top left, it is the storage plugins. Intersight has native integration with those supported vendors which are Hita.07:27If you are using any storage vendor out, out of these, they can be integrated to inter site. Now the question like when you integrated what the value that you will get or what you can see. So we can divide the options that you will be able to get into.07:49To monitoring and actions. From the monitoring perspective, you'll be able to pull the inventory details of your storage, the storage capacity, controllers, the configuration specs, snapshots and replication. So this is like for monitoring and visibility. From the action perspective, all the actions that you can take are under.08:06The inter site cloud orchestrator.08:26So it's mainly from the automation part. We have a library with built in tasks to automate your storage your storage like adding the host to hosted group in expanding the storage pool, adding. So all of this can be done from the inter site cloud orchestrator.08:29The actions are all under the hood of the inter site cloud orchestrator, which is the automation tool that is part of inter site.08:49So this is like for the storage. For the virtualization, what are the options that you can integrate with inter site? 1st, the, like the most advanced with the mo with the more options, we have the VMware vcenter. You can claim it to your inter site and you'll be able to see like the different VMs, the data stores, the clusters, the hosts, and you'll be.08:57Able to do like some minimal actions.09:17Sorting, stopping a VM, putting those into maintenance mode, and we are going to see that in the demo. Another option, if you are using Nutanix on our Cisco UCS servers, you will be able and using PRISM Central to manage your different Nutanix clusters, you will be able to claim your PRISM Central to inter site and then you will be able to see the Nutanix.09:21Clusters that you have it and you'll be able to see your Vmiss specifically if you are talking here about the age Vvmiss you'll be able to see them and see the VM inventory, the GPU inventory if you have like GPUs, also part of your Cisco UCS servers.09:40The 3rd option, we have it, it is for the Red Hat openshift. So if you are using Red Hat OpenShift, you can install the inter site plugin on your red Hat openshift, and you will be able to pull the details of the UCS servers like the inventory details, and then you will be able to see also the alarms, the H.09:56CL or the compatibility with the UCS server and the Red Hat openshift, and all of these details. And also this will be shown anyone.10:15And the the networking part, if you remember, we already mentioned that you can claim your Nexus switches and MDS switches, but there are two ways to claim them. You can claim them either through device connector, but in this way you will be only able to leverage the connected tag feature. You won't be able to see the inventory details or fetch the alarms of the switches.10:24In order to get the inventory details or fetch the alarms of the switches, so it is recommended to claim your Nexus switches and MDS switches using the inter site assist, ok? So the inter site assist, then you will be able to see the inventory, you will be able to pull the alarms shown for your, on your switches, and this is like very important in case.10:44It's like you are using top of rack switches nexus or whoever you're using MDS with your external storage to have visibility on those switches as well.11:04Now the remaining two integrations or two options that we have, there is the ServiceNow, ok, and if you are already using ServiceNow, you can use a plugin for the service graph connector to pull the inventory for the UCS servers or you can use the, ServiceNow.11:12Plugin for inter site for the incident management where you can pull the alarms, the inventories and raise incidents on your ServiceNow.11:32The last option here, which is the inter site add on for Splunk, so if you are already using Splunk, you can install the add on for inter site on it, modify the inputs or manage the inputs or the different alarms or the advisories that you would like to pull from inter site and then it will be.11:41All visible with the different matrix, with the different alarms advisories on Splunk itself, so it will give you like the holistic visibility specifically if you're already using Splunk to monitor the different tools or the different solutions in your data center.12:00So a usual question comes after this slide like, ok, if I do, if I have a 3rd party tool that is not part of the tools that you already discussed, can I still be able to integrate them to my inter site? Yes, you can integrate them through the API, so inter site has open API and it.12:18Has prepackaged API clients with Ansible PowerShell, terraform, and Python. So you can use any of those prepackaged API clients. It will be like an easy way to start the programming and you will have full access to API. It's very easy and straightforward as well.12:38So, one question that we would like to know after discussing the different options for the ecosystem integration, which is like which inter site integration area is most relevant to you in the environment? Is it the storage plugins, the virtualization, search.12:57ServiceNow, Splunk or in general you are going or you are interested in the API is the key part. So remember that you can join the slide and ask your questions from this, hashtag and the passcode as well. And we are waiting for your answer too.13:17Okay, we have like one answer for the API SDK automation. Please keep your answers coming and we are going back to it. We'd like to know which tool that you are most interested in the integration with Intersight.13:37So, before going to the demo, we would like to show some important prerequisites for the integrations. So here I'm going to talk about the storage and VMware center. The mainly the license here that you should have it on inter site is advantage license tier, and also you.13:53You need to make sure that you have the minimum supported version in the your storage vendor or in on your VMware V Center to make sure that you are aligned with the minimum supported version. You need to go to inter site.com/help, see the page for the 3rd party integration. It will have the latest supported version. It is important to always check that from the.14:12Portal itself because it's always updated.14:32The connectivity itself, it's through the IP, whether for the storage or for the V center and you you should use the admin credentials as well. For the app specifically, you need to have like the IQ unified manager. It is the integration supported for both the SAN and the NAS, and you need to enable.14:35The API gateway, specifically for the automation use case. For the ever pure, it is supported also for the flash array and flash blade integration. And for Hitachi, you should be using the IP for the VSP or the virtual storage platform for Hitachi. For the automation use case, you need to make sure that you have.14:55The Hitachi configuration manager rest API activated to to be able like to do actions on your storage.15:15For the integration with Nutanix Presum central, putting here the versions for your reference without going on them because those are usually updated so it it should be your reference inter site.com/help. We have a specific version if you are using standard Nutanix cluster, we have specific version if you're using the.15:26Your UCS servers with Nutanix with external storage and if you are interested to have like the VM or GPU inventory shown on inter site also, you should be aligned with the supported version. The VM for the prism central, it can be small or large, a requirement that it should have virtual IP and also it should be deployed.15:45On Nutanix infrastructure. How you are leveraging the device connector from the Prism central, you should be enabling the marketplace on Prism Central and install the inter site device connector. This is where you get the device ID and the claim code to claim it to your inter site account.16:05You need to make sure that the connectivity between present Central and inter site is open through port 443 and then the the presence central can reach the sVC.inter site.com if it's SAS and the FQDN if it is the appliance. And also you need to make sure that the bandwidth is minimum 1.5 millibit per second and the latency NO more than five.16:22200 milli a second. The license tier for inter site that you should have it to to have this claim or integration between Prism Central Intersight it is essential license tier.16:42So, now it's time for the demo. I'm going to show you the demo for the storage options for the virtualization and for prism central. Okay, that's good. So I'm going now to log in to my inter site account.16:53So on this inter site account, we already have the vCenter claimed to it. So let me show you how it looks like. 1st, if you are already claiming your vCenter or claiming your present center, you will be able to see the virtualization part here. If you clicked on virtualization here, this is like the VMware V center that we are claiming.17:36If you go to the virtual machines, you will be able to see all the Vmiss under your vCenter, so you can see here with the different operating systems running on your Vmiss with details on the CPU utilization, the memory utilization, all of these details that you can see. And also you'll be able to track what are the already.17:56Forward on or in the powered off Vmiss And you will be able also to to trigger some actions like starting stopping a VM, restarting a VM or launching a VM console.18:16Okay, so another thing you will be able to see the different data centers under your V center. You will be able to see all the clusters that you have it. You'll be able to see all the hosts under your V center here as you can see with also the CPU utilization memory utilization, and also you will be able.18:29Able to put the host into maintenance mode or launch the host console from inter site. Also here you will have a list of the virtual machine templates that you are using on vCenter and this is it that you can leverage during the automation. If you are like if you e.g. you want to automate the VM deployment from a specific virtual machine templates, you can.18:49Leverage those templates that you are using from on your vCenter. Also here showing you the different data stores configured on your V center and also if you already have a data store cluster.19:09So this is like mainly for the visibility and the monitoring perspective, ok? So, another thing here that I wanted to show you now if I want to claim Prism central, ok? So I will be doing this from scratch. I want to claim my prism Central to my inter site as you.19:23Can see here, I although I have here servers managed by, by Nutanix it's only shown the with the usual with the usual view for the Nutanix servers. So if you go here, e.g., we can see this one. This is a Nutanix server here as you can see from the server profile.19:43And from the configuration assigned to it, but it is not shown as a part of Nutanix cluster. So if I want to claim it to show, to see the Nutanix cluster itself I will go to system targets here.20:03Okay, I will claim a new target. I will pick hyperconverged and then I will go to Nutanix prism central. I will click on start and then I need to log in to my Prism central.20:17Let me do a refresh Let me put the IP again.20:52I'll open in your tab here.21:11Yeah, I don't know why it's taking that long. Maybe it's the VPN or maybe the VPN is down, maybe we can check that. Okay. Yeah.21:31Yeah, let me do one thing. I can so it cannot be reached. Yeah, we can come back to that maybe after so I can 1st show the storage integration and then get back to the prism central to show it again, ok? So.21:48I will show here the storage integration. So if you already have a storage integrated to your inter site, you will be able to see on the operate section storage tab shown here, ok?22:10So when we go to storage.22:30And then go here we have an ever pure storage claim to my inter site. I will be able 1st to see the general details for my pure storage. Like I won't be I will be able to see the specific version running on it. I will be able to see the model and in the properties I'll be able to see the capacity, what is used, what is.22:32Free what is provisioned, and I'll be able to see like the configuration, the number of the hosts, the hosted groups, the volumes that I have. And if I go here to inventory, I will be able to see all the inventory details of my storage.22:51The different hosts that I have it, the host groups here, as you can see configured, the volume groups configured as well, the snapshots if I have protection group, if I have it configured policies as well that is configured on my everpure, I will be able also to from this is from the logical.23:06Perspective I'll be able also to see the hardware parts, the controllers that I have it with the serial details and the model for it. I will be able to see all the drives that I have it on my, on inter site and I will be able also to see the ports configured for it.23:26Another thing which is the matrix here, this is also very important. It's giving mainly here the matrix for the temperature coming from different sensors on your ever pure storage, ok? So you can see here the from are coming from different sensors, what is the average, the minimum and the maximum reading.23:43And if you would like even to change or customize this metrics, you can go to this, click on view metrics and click view and Explorer, ok? And it will get into the filtration or the details that you have it for those specific metrics, and then you can customize group or filter based on your preference for your storage.24:03So this is also another thing that you can see from the storage part. Let me try to refresh this one and see it again. So another thing also to show you on the integration perspective, I want to show you to show you the IC.24:24O or the inter site cloud orchestrator, ok?24:43What will be the different actions that you can take in the library or what are the built in tasks? So the automation part here, you already will will be seen under the automate section. If you go here to workflows and if you go to create a workflow.24:48Okay, and then go to designer, you will be able to see here the library, ok? You'll be able to see the built in paths, ok? That you have it for the different categories. So you will find that there are tasks for networking, tasks for the storage, task for the virtualization that you can perform on your claimed targets.25:05So if you go to storage, e.g., you will be able to see tasks like add host to storage host group, add the host to storage, added storage export policy to a volume, edit and modify storage pool, whether to compress, whether to expand connecting volumes to storage host group. So you will find.25:25Find here many different actions that you can perform to your claimed storage as part of the ICO. You just need to create the workflow based on your preference.25:45So this is something that you can explore. If you are able to claim your storage, you will be able also to have accessibility to eh the ICO. Also from the virtualization part here you can see this is only supported for the vCenter.25:57You will be able here to see the different actions from the vCenter perspective. You can add iSCSI server, you can add host to DVS, you can add the physical NIC to virtual switch or add a virtual disk. You can deploy virtual machine from OVA, from template. So also there are a lot of actions.26:12Which you can perform on your vCenter from inter site and this is through the ICO tool.26:32Let me show you also some predefined workflows. You don't have to configure everything from scratch. You can configure of course your own custom workflow like was saying here with actions you want, but there are some already defined workflows that you can see.26:39And execute. Yeah, exactly. So, one more thing here that is for the networking part. The networking part, we are going to to see like if you already have Nexus or MDS switches we already have here in our inter site account Nexus switch.26:53Claimed, so if you go here to the next switch, what are the things that you can see? This next switch is claimed through the inter site assist so you can fetch the monitoring details, the inventory details, and you can see the alarms as well. So here you will find like what is the management IP for it? What is the firmware version running?27:13The contract status for the switch will be able to see further networking details like the subnet, the default gateway, defined modules, also the alarms, and this is very important. Any alarms that are triggered on the switch, you will be able to see in here as well.27:33Also from the inventory perspective, you will be able to see like you can hear this is a summary in terms of widgets for the graphical representation, like the power supplies, the model summary, the CPUs and all of this. And if you want to drill down to the physical and the logical details, you have it here on the left side.27:52So e.g., you can check here the ports configuration that you have it on your switch, the ethernet, the FCOE if you have, and then you'll be able to see like supervisor modules, the switching modules, the CPUs, the power, the thermal.28:11Details of your switch. From the logical, side, you will be able also to see the system details like what is the NTP DNS configured, the syslogs, the SNMP, you'll be able to see the port channels configured on your switch here as well with the different port channels, whether it's ethernet, if we, the interfaces as well.28:27Configuration, you will be able to see the L two neighbors for your, for your switch. You will be able to see the VLANs configured on it, the vrfs, if you already have it and the licensing details and the features enabled as well on that specific switch, ok?28:47So, I'm not sure it seems like there is a kind of connectivity issue with the yeah with the prism central. Let me give it one last try and if not we can go back to the presentation and once it's back, we can show the demo for the prism central.29:06Yeah, exactly, let's go back to the presentation. For some reason Nutanix is not responding here the portal we have. Yeah, but of course we have an integration with Nutanix as well, so you can onboard the Central on inter site and then you can check your storage, your high hyperconverged.29:26Structure you can do it from inter site and that's part of.29:47The advantages of inter site that we are using OpenAPI and you can connect a lot of different, as you saw a lot of different solutions either once you're handling from inter site and we have also integrations on the other solutions to inter site. So you can go to other portals like.29:51ServiceNow that will be talking and you can configure inter site with a plugin there, so you don't have to move around from one window to another. The idea is in general to do as less movement as possible between management portals. So.30:09With ServiceNow with the openshift. Let's start a little bit with the what are the requirements, we have some requirements here to support the inter site plugin, the OpenShift version needs to be the 04:19 or later.30:27And you need to do the configuration of the plugin on the OpenShift platform. You need to have cluster administrator privileges, and then you have to make sure you have outbound outbound access from your on premises that you have your red Hat servers to the FQDN that you see here to the container registry.30:42Because this is how you get, you fetch the plugin of inter site. So you need to be able to connect to this FQDN here that you see this quay.io. And then you can find the plugin and you can install it from there.31:02You need to make sure as well that you have access to the inter site pages. We have two fqdns, one is in the US and the other one is in Europe so you need to be able to resolve the inter site page. And if you're using inter site appliance, so if you're using.31:19E.g., in your own premises, then you need to be able to make sure that the appliance host name can be resolved from your red Hat cluster. So these are some network prerequisites and some version prerequisites, and then we have some inter site things you have to do from the inter site side.31:40You need to meet to be a server administrator for for to be able to see information in the plugin, you need to have advantage license and you have to go of course as we said in the open shift management platform and then you have.31:57To find in the red in the container you have to find the plugin and you have to install it. Another thing that is very important that handles the authentication is the oath 2.0 token. So you have to go to the inter site page, you have to go to the settings.32:14And then you have in the bottom API key generation, you have also oath 2.0, so these are different authentication methods here for the openshift, we are using oth 2.0. So you need to generate the token from inter site and then you have to go to the red hat, and you have to put it there.32:31So then the connection will be successful to the inter site cloud and Red Hat open system will be able to fetch eh, the servers and the rest of information from inter site. I will show that in more detail in the demo, but this is in a nutshell what you have to do for the Red Hat.32:49We also have an integration with the ServiceNow. The logic of course is similar, you're using the ServiceNow platform. You want to see the service of that you're that are running intersite. Okay, you can do it from ServiceNow, we have another plugin.33:05There are some prerequisites on supporting this plugin, you need to have ServiceNow 1.6 .0, and then you need also to have a version that is the inter site plugin is compatible with.33:22These three versions right now, Australia, Zurich and Yogama, so you need to make sure you have one of these versions and another thing you have to do in the ServiceNow to be able to see some performance analytics and reporting from the inter site page is going to the ServiceNow platform and activating the performance analytics and reporting.33:37So this is another plugin you have to enable it to be able to fetch the information from inter site and then.33:57When it comes to licensing, again, you need an advantage like with license. If you are using on prem inter site so if you're using an appliance, you need to install inside your on premises an MID server that is going to be doing the connection to.34:04In the site and you need to have system admin privilege to install the plugin in your ServiceNow. So then you have to go after you have installed the plugin and you made sure that it's compatible with your ServiceNow version, you have to go to the plugin and you have to configure.34:22Inside the plugin, the alarms and advisories to be able to fetch them from the inter site platform. You need to do authentication of course as before with this time is going to be with API key and secret key. So you go to inter site, you go to the settings.34:41You generate an API key, with API key you have the the key ID and then you have a secret key which you have to save in your computer, and then you have to import this information in your ServiceNow plugin, intersite plugin in order to be able to do the connection to inter site.34:56And then the last step here inside your plugin as well is to set the log level and the incident assignment settings. So you're defining which reporting level you want to see. You want to see the warnings, you want to see the errors et cetera, you're defining there and what is classifying as an incident? So in which case ServiceNow should open an incident if.35:12Betters are, if there are warnings etc in which service etc. So this is where you are defining what the ServiceNow platform is going to do with your inter site information that you will be getting from inter site.35:32This is how the integration works with ServiceNow, and we also have an integration with Splunk and this one is another integration that I will be showing in the demo as well. So Splunk, as you may know is an analytics platform, and then you you have a lot of information and a lot of telemetry as well.35:43About what is.36:03Going on in your traffic, you get some pattern analysis as well of your traffic, so it's good to identifying baseline behaviors if something is out of the ordinary, you will be able to see it in splunk. So it's good to integrate inter site actually with Splunk and you can do it natively inside your Splunk with any inter site add on. We have some.36:05Some requirements you need to have Splunk enterprise.36:259.1241 of these versions, then the operating system is actually supporting Linux Windows and Mac OS and Python three. We have also the plugin supports also this plan, so if you don't have the enterprise plunk, you have the cloud instead, it's going to be supported.36:28With the site plugin. And of course you, you, you can use the standard Splank deployment sizing and system requirements that they you would normally do for this plan. Depending on which deployment you have, as I said, they they are all supportive but there is a.36:48A little bit of a difference in how you will do the installation of the plugin. So if you're using a standalone Splunk installation, so you have a server with Splunk, then you have to go and install the data and configure locally on this server. If you're using distributed, so a lot of Vmiss with Splank but on premises inside your data center.37:05To install the add on on the heavy forwarder?37:25That is making all this connection inside, and then you have, if you're using cloud, it's supporting the plugin supports both cloud options here, either Splunk Cloud, you have to go to the manage apps and then you from there you have to find the inter site plugin that don't and add it or maybe if you're using the.37:29Distributed cloud.37:48Then you have to use the intermediate data manager. There is detailed documentation explaining all of this process, but the the important thing to highlight here is that it supports all of the different deployment options of splunk. And then of course after you do what you need to do for your deployment option, you know.37:50Need to restarts Blank.38:10In order for that on to be installed and ready to go and report all the inter site information. On the inter site side, this time you need essentials. Before you with ServiceNow and with open hat, you need the advantage here, you need essentials only. Again, like we did with the open open hat.38:11Yeah sorry that you have to go and do an auth token like before. So you go to the settings center site, you generate the 2.0 token, and then you put it on the splunk side to do the connection. You need to have the correct inter site API host name.38:31For the communication to be successful to inter site and we support all the different inter site solutions, so it can be a cloud, it can be a virtual appliance. They are both supported. You just need to go and make sure you have the inter site, the API calls correct because the Splunk is going to communicate to the API server of inter site and you need to have the token.38:48Correctly installed and configured. Great. So let me pause here and show you right now. 1st of all, I will go I'm going to show you how you can generate this API keys. It's it's pretty trivial. It's not the big deal.39:07And you have to go to your inter site. You need to have the correct privileges to do this to to generate API key or to generate the token, as we said. So I'm going to connect here to an inter site instance we have in our lab.39:26And it's a just you go and you do this configuration 1st here and then you go to the platform you want to go and you simply put this information there. So we suggest that especially for the secret key, you save it somewhere when you generate the API key because the.39:44This will not be shown again. You need to have it eh and you need to put it of course in the platform you want to integrate, so make sure that you.40:04Keep this somewhere in a, in a file saved and you can find it again. So I'm selecting an account here. I know that here I'm a system administrator, so I go to the system and then I go to the API settings and I have two options as you can see here. Of course, I get the new features, we have a backup and restore here.40:11You can create a backup of your system configuration. This is just you know a parenthesis, but you got it, ok. So we can go to the keys here.40:31And this is how you generate an API key actually. This is per application and what is cool is that you can actually monitor the traffic per API key. So that's good. You have one one API key per application. We're selecting the the schema version that we want depending on what platform we want to integrate and what it supports.40:40Eh, so default is going to be the version three, the version two is currently deprecated.41:00So we just give a name here and then it's going to give us the, let's say that I create and now I will not go through with, you know, with nothing as blank, let's say it's for ServiceNow because as we said the ServiceNow needs this ServiceNow API, so.41:06You can click generate and then you have the API key and the secret key, ok? I have downloaded the key closed. So this is this is the process and then you take this and you put it in the ServiceNow, the same similar thing you do actually for the auth token, so you come here, we have already created here as you can see the the key.41:23This but you go here, you click create.41:43Then again you give the name and the description and then you click create and you will get the client ID and the code and then you put that that in the platforms. So let me show you how, 1st thing is to do that. Then you go to the platform you want. Let's go e.g. here in openshift. And before you.41:46Do anything else. You have to go to the software catalog in the ecosystem and you have to find the plugin. So this is the 1st step. You go to, to here to inter site and then this one is the one that says plugin, ok?42:05You can see that we have the version 103 right now and then you can see some information, ok? You go ahead and you do the installation and after you install it, you have to go to the account registration and you have to put the oath 2.0 authentication. So you put the client ID you created before from intersite and the secret.42:20If you're using a proxy to connect to inter site from your red Hat environment, then you have to put the proxy here depending on your network requirements and you you test connection, you make sure that the connection is successful here. If it is successful, if you go to the overview.42:40You will be able to see, hopefully, you know, the cluster overview. So here we have only one server in our inter site that is running Red hat. Just to show you here, we have a 210M7 server. You can see this seems a lot like inter site, right? So you can see these are widgets that like you have in the dashboards in inter site and you.42:58You can see some information here like you would normally do, ok? So this is the overview tab and then we have the service bar.43:18A tab where you have all the servers that you onboarded, and if we click on a server, we get a very similar view again, like the one we have in intersight. So if you are used to inter site, but you want to manage your servers from red cat you you can do it and you have the inter site menu actually here. So we have the general information, we have the inventory.43:24That is showing some information regarding the hardware, the adapters, et cetera. We have the hardware compatibility list like normally we have on inter site where it checks for compliance. All this information is coming of course from inter site and then we have metrics like we would normally have.43:44On the inter site and there are some actions, not a lot like you have on intersite, of course you don't have all the options so you cannot create the like metrics from here. You can see them. The the central metrics you have. You can launch inter site though to do more configuration and then you can launch the console as well if you want from here.44:00So this is how it looks like to onboard inter site on the openshift. Let me go to show you the Splunk. So for the Splunk is going to be a similar process. As I said, 1st we create the token like before, and then we go and we find here inter site add on.44:17And after we install the inter site add on, we have to make sure that the communication with inter site is correct. So how we do that, we go to the configuration, and here we make sure we put, we click add and we put our key, our A our authentication key that we generated before.44:36If the connection is successful where we'll be able to connect of course to inter site and get all the information. If we are using a proxy to connect to inter site like before we have to set it here, we are setting the logging that we want to receive from intersite here. What logs you want to receive? Warning and errors or just errors or info warning and errors et cetera.44:57So this will include the upper most urgent so if we say warning it will be warnings and the errors. So you you select one, you click save, and then if everything is successful, you will be able to connect inter site and you will be able to see here some inputs. So what are inputs in Splunk?45:16Inputs are the the what data you will get from inter site actually. So which data will be collected how often et cetera. So there are some already created here by default.45:36That you can check, ok? You you can check what is the interval of getting the alarms, e.g., here. If it's enabled, you can edit it as well, you can copy it, you can delete it. So we have some already created inputs, but you can come here and you can create your own input. There are some categories. You can create a custom input and then you are defining here.45:48Here, what is going to be the interval every how often Splunk is going to get this information from inter site you know some information about the API because you are connecting to the API server of inter site so you want to to to find here what is the API that you're connecting to inter site.46:08And then you have to put it here, like here, like it says here. So if you go to the inter site documentation, you will see more information about how to do that. Then you can apply filter like you normally do in API calls. You can expand as well like this. There are some parameters that work with inter site APIs.46:25So you can, you can select them here and you can fetch what you want exactly to fetch, how often you want to fetch it from inter site. So you don't have to stick with this input that are already the default ones. You can put you can create even more. So how it looks like, let's say we configure the connection, we configured the inputs, we want to see what's what splank is like for interst.46:41Types.47:01So we go to activity monitoring and now Splank tells us what some traffic patterns, ok? The last seven days for this account that we connected, what was happening like the the users were logging into inter site to do what? They they were doing created creating operations 46 % they were deleting it.47:01They were modifying, they were logging in, they were logging out, so you can see all the traffic patterns here.47:21That's cool. You have it in this platform. You can see which browser they were using from where they were connecting. This is me. You can see the top users by activity. So you have, you know, how, how much each session was in average, some activity what happened here. So you have the activity monitoring where you can see what users were.47:27We're doing. This is more granular than you have it on the inter site platform. You you have as well that you can see the logins and logouts and some operations, but here you have.47:47More detailed things like ok and then you can see the alarms as well. This is similar to the view you have with inside the inter site, so if you click the alarms, you see something like that, how many are active, how many are cleared? You can see here the severity.47:57You can filter as well here, you can search, you can filter your search, ok? You can download, you have some actions here as well that you can do, you can export these views, ok, and you have also for advisory the same, you can see the utilization of your servers of.48:13That you that Splunk has access to. So here it will generate, you know, all of all of your domains here. You will be able to see the chases, the domains, these are IMM domains. How many slots are actually occupied with servers?48:33How many are unused, which are the IDs so you have some information here and you can see some CPU traffic trend between the different hosts as you can see here. Okay, so you can monitor parts of the server from here as well. You have we have the error metrics as well.48:46And then we have the inventory browser where you can see all of the domains one by one and you can actually check what type of servers you have. So we have ten rack servers, we have 13 blade servers here right now.49:03They can see in which mode they are and if you go to the domains here, you get all the domains and you can go, you know, you can find information about the specific here for fabric interconnect, e.g., we can see some information from this plan.49:18What is the most useful in my, in my opinion is the analytics that gives you which is different and you can see it here. And of course for the troubleshooting, it will also give you some information here. So, if you click one of if you want to troubleshoot something, it will give you some analysis of the utilization.49:34Again baseline, it will give you a baseline of how traffic works in this domain, e.g.. So you know what is the total transmits fabric interconnect, the total receive, et cetera, and the utilization per port. So you have like the baseline activity and then you can start troubleshooting on that. And then we have some reporting that you can do from Splunk so you can.49:54From here you can get a report about different topics here about the utilization, you have advisory, you have different hardware information, so you can generate a report, you can export it.50:14And you can, you can have it for your reference. So this is in a nutshell, the Splunk integration, we went through we went through Splunk before we saw storage virtualization, so we have a lot of integration actually with inter site.50:26And as I said, it's easier because we have we're using the open API. And let me show you, let me talk about something else for a second if you can say again before covering the overview on cloud control Alex, let me just show quickly the integration with Nutanix.50:43But this is like from another inter site account because under upgrade, so that's why it wasn't up. So, we have another inter site account luckily with Nutanix integration so that we can show you how it looks like. See if you have your prism central integrated to your inter site.51:03You will be able to see here the Nutanix cluster tab, and you'll be able to see all the Nutanix clusters running under your prison central. So if you go to any one of them here, you will be able to see, ok, for this cluster, how many nodes that you have it, you have three nodes running HV hypervisor, what is the NCC version? What.51:23Does the AOS version as well?51:43And if you go also here to the events part, it, it's able to fetch the alarm from the Prism central so that you can have the whole visibility, the errors from the hardware side coming from the usual management for the UCS server and the alarms as well from the, from the Prism central.51:45And if you go here to the node details, you'll be able to see each specific node, what are the specific general details, the disks that it has, the virtual machines as well underneath and for the virtual machines tab, you'll be able to see all the virtual machines under this specific cluster here shows.52:06Doing those HV Vmiss and the specs for each of them if you go into each one of them. The GPUs inventory, if you remember, if you do have also GPUs plugged to your servers running Nutanix will be able to see them and also the storage containers part here in case that you have it configured.52:26One last thing here in the virtualization, you will see the Nutanix prism Central part and also it will be listing all the AHV Vmiss as compared with the also the V Center claim.52:46So this is for the how the Nutanix cluster looks like from our side and now sharing my screen. And if you notice the inter site that is different here in was sharing, this is going to be what the next topic actually. Soon is going to be available in Europe as well right now is in US.52:59So it's the Cisco Cloud control.53:19And what this essentially is, the idea here is to have a unifying unified portal for all of your different technologies and to break silo silos across teams. So you have one team that is handling the physical servers, another one that's handling the switches, another one that's handling the, you know, the compute, the, all the different areas.53:21And now you can have everything in one login in one place. So different teams can work together, that's that's going to save you a lot of time and all the alarms for all of your So your entire infrastructure is going to be in the cloud control. You you will have all the alarms there.53:39You will see all your inventory eh you can see all how all these connect across different different products as well, how they all connect everywhere you have your deployments in in total in different places. And on top of that we have the AI assistant.53:56That is going to have access to this telemetry data from your different products and it's going to be able to let you know what is the status. If there is any issue, it will tell you that, you know, you, you have an issue with this specific part and then it will give you an initial analysis as well.54:11And you can investigate and resolve. We have something called AI canvas, which is part of the feature in in the cloud control and you can actually do more troubleshooting there. So this is the future we want to have everything in one place so you don't go between different portals. You don't have to speak with different teams.54:29You have everything, everyone is up to date in the same portal with with one login.54:50So if you can go to the next slide for for inter site customers, what this means today you are able to connect to inter site. Again, it's a similar logic so you can manage your different products. You have integrations as we we discussed. You can see them all from inter site.54:54You have policy driven operations and of course you get information about how, e.g., contracts are going to expire with the dashboard, you get some insights advisories you know that you will have end of life products inside will let you know with an alarm, with an advisory alarm. Okay.55:11On top of that, we have across everything the same experience. So from one place you see everything so and you have AI on top of that to be able to summarize what is going on, give you an initial analysis, so it saves you a lot of time from troubleshooting to knowing what the health is across.55:28Because your entire infrastructure. You have multi tenant visibility centralized from one place. So this is cloud control.55:48It will be US, it will be coming. It's now in US It will be coming to to you soon as well. So now we come to the end of our webinar today covering the different options for integrations with inter site.55:55I hope that the session was beneficial to you and please if you do have any other questions send us on Slido and we can reply throughout the day.56:15Yes, thanks a lot for joining.56:28
