Transcript

Oh, everyone, today we are gonna have the session for expert insights series Cisco IQ adding contracts and data connection.00:00My name is Bellanka Damage and I will be your speaker today.00:20Before we start with the actual presentation, we have a couple of helpful tips. So if you have a Q and A, you can follow the instructions on the screen and you can get to use Slido in order to make your questions and get some answers.00:26You can also use the Webex assistant in case your preferred language is something else or in case you want to have some closed captions, you can enable them with the option on the bottom to the left. The presentation will be recorded and will be available on sales connect.00:44In a few days after we presented to you and the link will be shared in the chat as well.01:03If you have issues to join the Slido, what you can do is use the links that are on the chat with the password that is on the chat and you will be able to interact with us, ok?01:10Now let's get to it. So today's agenda includes an introduction. We are going to speak about contracts, inter site, Webex, the Catalyst SD one manager, Meraki, and then Cisco Link and legacy collectors, which is also something called CX Cloud migration.01:29So let's begin with the introduction. There are several data connectors.01:49We have inter site Webex Catalyst SD one Meraki, we have the Cisco AQ links, and we have CSPC and CX agent if we need to use the legacy connectors. The service contracts are a source of information or a data source, but they are not.01:55A data connector, they don't have telemetry.02:15We're gonna speak about them in a moment. We have the cloud connectors which have information from the devices. So if we have a Webex instance or if we have a Meraki instance or any of these, they already have the information from your devices, they already have the telemetry.02:18And the comments and the configuration. So.02:37Instead of Cisco asking you to connect directly your devices to the appliance, what we are asking you to do is connect your, your instances or your controllers, and then you will be able to see the data that it's already available there.02:41If you have a device that is not within inter site manager or something like that, then you can use the Cisco IT link. Cisco IQ link is a virtual machine that connects directly to the devices. You will need to set it up on your.03:02You don't yeah if you don't see legacy collectors, it means you don't have a CX Cloud migrated into IQ. If you need to complete that or having CSPC or CX agent, we are gonna address that.03:20By the end of the conversation. So.03:40I was explaining regarding Cisco IT link. If you have devices that are not within one of the other cloud connectors, what you can do is use Cisco IT Link and you can connect the virtual machine directly to those devices and the Cisco IQ Link will use SNMP.03:44And.04:03CLI commands to get the information out of your devices, so you have the telemetry available at on Cisco cube. We will start with the contracts. So to add a contract, there are certain requirements, you need to be an IQ admin.04:05You need to have the cco ID and the contract associated directly. You don't need to be an administrator of the contract and you don't need to have access, like on.04:25Your smart account or something like that, you need to go to this specific page and then you need to manage the contracts under your cco ID. Then your customer organization under contract must match the customer organization associated with the Cisco user or the cco ID.04:39This is a fail safe, and this is a legal requirement because if.05:00Cisco tries to add organization B into our portal, we are not supposed to do that. So if by, for whatever reason I have contracts from a second organization and I try to get them into my IQ portal and they are not part of my organization.05:06The portal itself IQ will not allow me to do it.05:26The contract status is important. It needs to be active, signed or overdue. If it's expired or some other status, it will not be able to be added. Also, the contract needs to have a unique end customer view, which means it needs to pertain only to one organization. So the.05:31The contract needs to be from, e.g., Cisco, not, Cisco and Cisco LTD and Cisco International and so on and so forth. It needs to go directly to just one. This is also because it should be only Cisco, not Cisco and organization A, B and C and then we have a lot of.05:51License under the same contract. Again, this is to prevent.06:11Organizations to have visibility over assets and configurations and other information from other organizations. The next requisite is the contract needs to be Cisco branded, not partner support. If the contract is partner support, then the support is provided by the partner directly.06:15So it needs to be, Cisco branded. If you have a device that is partner support and you get telemetry from it, you will see it on IQ and you will see the contract covering it, but it's because the telemetry is flowing from the IQ link or one of the other.06:35The sources, not directly from a contract.06:55And finally, the contracts must have hardware for you to be able to add it. You can raise an exception through tech and ask, hey, I have a software only contract or I have a subscription contract and I want to have it added into IQ. The reason it's not allowing you currently to add it is because it doesn't add any value.06:58It will only populate on a very small percentage of IQ and you will not see it anywhere else. So because there is NO hardware, there is NO assets and there will not be any information on the pages of IQ like assets and.07:17Other places. There are some limitations. If you want to remove all the contracts, including the last one that is linked to your account, you need to open a tech case. Also, there are US government contracts. Those need a tech case in order to be added because the process is slightly different.07:35I will take a moment to share if you have any questions or if you have any queries or whatever, we have a panelist checking them so you can go to Slido and you can share them there. And we will have a Q and A at the end of the call so you can we we will read them as well.07:55Now, let's talk about how to add contracts. You can add contracts as a 1st contract into, into a portal or you can add it as extra contracts. If it's your 1st contract, you need to go to home, system settings, service contracts, and add contract.08:15So the home icon would be, here, once you click on it and then you go to system settings, it will change and then you can select service contracts and you need to specify the contract and then add it.08:33If you have any issues, you can reach out to tech through the question mark button and then contact us. We are going to explain to you why it was not added and if there is any issue we can fix so you can go and add it, we can do it. Else we will tell you the steps to complete the process.08:50If it's not your 1st contract, you already have one, then your portal already is associated to an organization and then you can add other contracts matching that organization and matching your CCOID. For that, that is a comment. I will read it later on. So for.09:09For that other contracts, you can click on add a contract once you have added them and you will be presented with a list of eligible contracts. If you don't see a contract that is associated to your cco ID on the list, then NO worries, you can check if it's on software only or something like that and you can.09:29You can open up the case with that specific contract number and we can analyze why it was not added or if we can add it for you. The contracts are one of the longest ones but now we are gonna check some other.09:51Data connectors.10:10So another one that we can add is intersite. The requirements, some people are saying they don't see anything except data connectors. We will address the legacy connector.10:12Victors by the end of the call. Just let us go through the other ones 1st, please. So.10:32To add inter site, there are some requirements you need to be an administrator on IQ and your email must be entitled to the inter site account you want to add. There are some limitations currently only the US region is supported.10:38So inter site accounts on other regions will not be able to be added. And the removal of the last linked inter site entity requires a tech case. This is a constant. If you want to remove the last thing of something, you will probably require a tech case for us to remove it for you.10:53Also only statically assigned inter site admins are supported. So if you have an admin being an admin because of dynamic rules or an admin is, is an admin because they are under a mailer or something like that, they are not statically assigned and they will not be.11:10Be able to add the inter site into IQ even if they are admins on both, you will need to open up the case and we can review that so we can complete the process.11:30Okay. So let's add it. If if you have an inter site, what you need to do is go to home, which will be here, and system settings, data connectors and then check for inter site and click on the button that says connect.11:40If you already added an intercite, you can add more. You just need to go to the same place that's connectors and then click on the icon and then you will be presented with the same dialogue and you will be able to.11:58To connect it, it will present you the list of inter site entities that you have access to and that you can add. We will continue.12:17Sorry for that. So we have Webex. Currently, you cannot directly add Webex, you need a tech case for that, but the requirements are very similar. You need to be an IQ administrator and you need to be an admin of the Webex organization that is going to be added.12:36The existing Cisco account name you need to add it on on your on your case when you open it, and you can check it under home system settings account name. Here would be home. Then you go to system settings and you will be able to see your account name.12:55The other thing you need is the Webex organization ID that is associated with your Webex organization. For that, you just log into Webex hub, and then you go to management and account and you will be able to see the ID. With those two things you can open our tech case and we are going to add it for you.13:16So to add it is very similar, we have some comments from some peers. We are gonna read them by the end of the, of the presentation. So how to add it? We go to home, system settings, data connectors, and then you can click on connect or.13:37For Webex or you can go to home system settings data connector and if you already have a Webex, you click on the gear icon and then you click on add organization. Please don't forget to include your existing IQ name account.13:57And your Webex organization ID, you will get this message and then you can click on open a case and then we will be able to help you to add it. It usually don't doesn't take too long, so NO worries. It's something very quick and easy.14:17Yeah, next is the catalyst SD WAN manager. You will see it's a constant that their requirement is for you to be an administrator on the IQ. If you're a view only user or something like that, you are not gonna be able to do any of the things that we are discussing. You also need to be.14:36An IQ administrator.14:57On the SD one manager instance that you want to add. This is also a constant, if you want to add something, you need to be the administrator of that something with the same email that you are an admin on IQ. Why? Because that's the check. If you are an admin on IQ, you can add stuff to it. And if you are an admin on the other thing, you can allow the other.14:59Thing to share information with IQ. So in this case, the other thing is SD WAN manager. You need to be the administrator of the SD WAN manager and IQ. The SD one manager has a couple of requisites, it.15:19It needs to have the data collection enabled. Without data collection, there is NO data collected, so there is NO data to show to you on IQ. It also needs the version twenty.six or later. Previous versions are not supported and.15:32IQ link will retrieve the SD WAN entities from an external API by based on your credentials. So again, if you have, e.g., a Cisco and Cisco internal employee.com domains and I am an administrator with one on the with the one manager and with the other on my.15:49IQ, then they are not gonna match. You will need to add either.16:09One as an admin or on one platform or the other. So, keep that in mind because most of the well a very common issue or a very common pitfall is when.16:14You as a person are the administrator for both, but your emails just don't match. So if, if the emails doesn't match, then you have, you have an issue and you need to make yourself administrator with the same one.16:29And again, there are some limitations, so if you want to remove any SD one manager, you need to open a tech case. So it's something that is not painful or difficult to do. Believe me, it's just two or three clicks and we will be able to help you. That is.16:44So, I'll go back one slide just in case that was not recorded or I lost the other. So really quick, the requirements are you need to be an IQ admin on both sides with the same email.17:00If your email doesn't match, then it's not gonna be able to be added.17:20Because it retrieves the SD one entities that you can add based on the API credentials that are based on your session credentials. So say I Amitch@Cisco.com and the administrator on the SD one manager is me but with Gitammich at Cisco admins.com.17:25That thing doesn't match, so I need to add myself with the email that matches on one or the other. Removal of any SD one manager requires a tech case. So how to add it? It's very similar to the other stuff. You go to home system settings that are connectors, and you click on connect for the.17:45If you already have an SD WAN manager, you click on the gear icon and then add the organization. You will see a list of organizations that match with your.18:06With your access. If you don't see any, check that your email is the administrator on the SD one manager side. And if not, then that that's it. You need to add yourself as a manager from the other side.18:15We are getting near the end of the presentation. So we are going to speak about Meraki. Meraki has very similar requirements. You need to be an IQ admin, you need to have a valid Meraki dashboard API key.18:33And to create your API key, you go to the Meraki dashboard, then you click on my profile, API access and you need the API key. Very common pitfall is that people create the API without access. Your user, the one creating the API.18:47Access needs to have access to the information that you want to see. If not, then the API key has access to nothing or not, to the organization you intend to see. So the API key must have admin access to the organizations you want to onboard into Cisco IQ.19:03And the visibility that the API key has is the visibility that you're granting to IQ. The API key is only used at the moment of addition. It's not stored by Cisco IQ, we we don't have it, we don't have any visibility over it. And when you generate it, you need to save it somewhere safe, then you can go and paste.19:22And that's the way it's used. If you generate, you close and you ask us for it or you ask a tech to recover it for you, we can't, there is NO place that we can go see look at it or anything like that. And if the API is invalid or is rejected, you will need to generate a new one.19:42So and to try again because we cannot go and fetch it for you.20:02Remove for the last organization requires a tech case, but you can remove if you added 345, you can remove many of them. You can't remove the last one, but everything else you can.20:08To other meraki, it's very similar. You go to home, system settings to the connectors and click on connect. And if there is one already there, you just click on the gear icon and then click on add organization. Here is the gear icon, here is the button for other organization.20:24Yeah. It will open this dialogue and it will request the API key. A common misconception or pitfall. If you create the API team, you need to click on the checkbox that says that you're gonna save it in a.20:42And in a place that is safe and that you have control over it, and then you need to close that thing.21:02If you don't go and do the creation of the API key and then close on Meraki, the dialog box, the API will not work. So you need to generate, you need to save in a safe place, then you need to close the dialogue box and then you can come here.21:10You're paste it and click on connect.21:29Finally we have a very hot topic because it's the legacy collectors and Cisco IQ link. There will be a second session for the IQ link connector in which we are going to explore IQ link further.21:37We're gonna do a deep dive into how to deploy it common pitfalls common misconceptions, and how to avoid all that.21:51It's a session that is not yet it's not gonna happen on this session. It's a session I believe next week and regarding CX Cloud migration, you can have a CX cloud agent and you can have a CSPC added into.22:02Your IQ accounts?22:21But for that, you need to have those collectors 1st. So if you had a CSPC or if you had a CX agent before, that means you can use CX cloud and you can visualize their information on CX cloud. If.22:25You have that, you can complete a migration. Here is the guide and we are gonna share with you all.22:45And afterwards, you will have an IQ populated with the same information as CX cloud and the same data sources. If you have a CSBC or you have.22:51CX agent and you didn't do a migration for whatever reason and now you have an IQ link and it doesn't have the legacy collectors. That's not bad or wrong or a problem. You just need to open a tech case.23:07Sharing your CX cloud account and that you want to migrate the information into IQ and you need to share your CX cloud account and your IQ account. The team is going to populate the information.23:24Of your CX cloud into IQ for you, and we are gonna complete the migration manually. We may need to ask you for some bits of information before we proceed, but as long as you are the administrator on both IQ.23:40And, on CX cloud, then probably we will be able to proceed with with the migration. If you don't see the leg legacy connectors or the legacy collectors on your IQ right now.23:55That is normal and is expected because you have to go to CX Cloud and then complete the migration. If you didn't complete that process, then you don't have legacy collectors, you can request that to help you with that and as always for any issue, any problem or any.24:13Any, anything that you're not able to complete by your own on the IQ that you have questions, queries is not behaving as it is supposed to. There are some errors missing information or anything like that. Please click the question mark icon in IQ dot.24:33Cisco.com and then select contact us. You are opening a tech case with the team for support for IQ and we are going to be able to help you. We may ask for some information or we may need to get into a call with you, but we will probably be able to help you.24:53And just the PPT will be shared publicly, not with the not directly it will be on on Cisco webpage I believe.25:11Next that is a list of resources that is gonna be shared with you with the presentation and the recording once it becomes available. It includes how to check the Cisco IQ account name and it's the Cisco IQ portal and the getting started guide.25:29Documentation for IQM frequently asked questions, the supported list of products.25:46The AI transparency take note and the status of the portal. It's recently provisioned so you can check if there is an outage or something, and you can say ok I I am not the only one affected or I'm not crazy, right? It's it's just there is an issue with it. Next, we are gonna go to the.25:54Q and A? Let me open the chat. I will go from the bottom to the top. So that is a question regarding catalyst center. What about the catalyst center? Do you have the catalyst center, you need to add a Cisco IQ link.26:14And to deploy and to explain all the steps involved, that is gonna be a session directed specifically for IQ link. It's an oncoming session, I believe is next week. There is a question that says, will this PPT be distributed to the attendees? Yes, not direct.26:32You will need to go to the.26:53You will need to go to to the webpage where the recording will be there and all the NO audios, so that has been fixed hopefully then someone is asking I don't see any data connectors in the system settings.26:58Team if you are a Cisco internal there are groups and there are mailers so you can ping me directly and we can talk about that later well so there is a clarification.27:19If a customer cannot open a tech case themselves because they have a hardware support partner, the partner opens a tech case on their behalf, yeah, let's separate the two things. One thing is the support of the device and one thing is the support of the IQ.27:32So if your customer or you have an IQ link or an IQ portal, that's supported just by clicking the question mark and then asking for help, hey, I I have this issue, please help us or let us know or.27:52You you explain your symptom and then we get into it. If you have support for a switch, a router, a firewall, I don't know an ICE or whatever, you need to open the case for that thing with your specific contract and that is separate. That has not changed at all. If it's support.28:11Supported by the partner, you get in touch with your partner, and if it is supported directly by Cisco, you can open the case directly with Cisco.28:30I don't see the legacy collectors in my Cisco queue. If you don't see the legacy devices, sorry, collectors on your Cisco queue, it's because there was NO migration. So if you have a CX cloud portal, you can go there, check if you have a CX cloud.28:40Agents or csbcs attached.28:58Then you can open a tech case and we can complete the migration for you. For now we we can complete that. Is there plans to have a native integration with the catalyst center instead of using IQ link? No, because you cannot connect the catalyst center directly to the.29:01Internet in most cases. So the center will be connected to the IQ link and the IQ link will be connected with the Cisco backends.29:21That's how it is set up right now. If you have feedback, you can go to IQ.cisco.com to your, to your portal, and you will notice there is a button on the bottom right corner. It's blue and it has a thumbs up, thumbs down image.29:31Click on that and share your feedback. Right now sharing your feedback gives you voice and weight on the product because there are teams checking almost daily all the feedback. So if if you have something important to share, like e.g. you want the center or.29:51To the, to the IQ link or to IQ instead of the IQ link you can share your feedback and the team will probably check if that's doable or not and analyze the feasibility. You need a CX admin. This admin needs to be on these sessions.30:14Okay you made that question but I am not sure I'm understanding. So, if you want to paraphrase or rephrase your question, please do it and I will read it.30:36Yeah, someone joined late and explained the contraction. Yeah, we we spoke about the the contract addition and the organizations and the go ID.30:51Is there a plan to have NDFC integration soon? Not that I am aware of, but again if you go to the feedback button, it is very important, it is very valuable and right now because it's a new offering, it is being considered very, very.31:06Closely. Whatever the customers refer, it's something that is analyzed and taken very seriously. So if, if you want to go there and click on the feedback button and share that you want support or integrations for in this case NDFC, the team will probably look into it.31:26Interesting comment on CC, it's used quite often as a proxy for smart licensing and managing software and imaging management, so in order to download those OS, you will need to open one capabilities. No, you're welcome. Right now it's not something that is in the roadmap as far as I know, but again.31:47I urge you to go and click on the feedback button because your feedback is very very important and is taking into consideration. Okay, I'm not sure if there are any other questions on the Slido.32:07Yes, there are a couple of questions on the slider one question is if we can post the link for the session two, that's about IQ link and legacy collectors migration. So the link to the session, if you have it, if you can post it in the chat.32:28Okay. So here is the link to register for the webinar.32:46What's up thank you and someone is asking for the link to the slides and recording with passcode. The recording will have NO passcode as far as I understand because it will be on sales the the platform for the webinar recording.33:03So, it, it is not available because we are presenting it. There is NO link to the slides yet, but it will be shared afterwards.33:23Please share if there are any other questions? Yes, there's another question on the Slido, can we connect a partner sourced collector similar to CSBC to IQ?33:37I believe today we support CSBC and CX agent. I'm not sure about the partner source collector though. It depends on the setup. So if the collector is linked to the.33:51CX Cloud and it pertains to one customer and that customer has the management of it.34:11We can confirm if it has reachability or not. If it is working, if yes and it's added into CX cloud, then we can complete the migration. This is not a call to action to get an old CSPC that has not worked or updated in a couple of years.34:20To like test it off and start using it. It's more like if you're already using a CSPC or a CX agent, you can have it on my queue but if you are not using something or if it is an old one or if it hasn't updated or uploaded in a bit, then.34:43We cannot help with that. So basically if you see it on CX cloud, then we can migrate it.35:03Into IQ. I'm not sure if there are any other questions on the slider.35:12I don't see any new questions on Slido, so we're good so far. Thanks Millenco. Okay so team the link for the IQ link connector session for Americas it will be on 16 July 20.35:29By 26 at 01:00 P.M. EDT the same hour as this one. It's already on the chat.35:49And we're gonna talk about the IQ link connector, how to deploy it conceptions, and the advantages of having it deployed as well as the requisites and other important bits.35:56Oh. There are NO other questions on the chat or either on everyone or the direct one. If you have any other question, I invite you to share it now either on Slido or here on the chat.36:12If not, I think that will be it for for this session.36:32I'm sorry ok I think that's all so thank you very much for your time on the call today. I hope this information is helpful. It will be available as a recording as well as with the.36:46Presentation very soon, and it will be shared with you on the on the webpage. There are, there is one more question. How can I create a customer account on my user login? So if you.37:03Have a cco ID, you can create a customer account. You need to go to IQ.cisco.com and then you click on create an account. If your.37:21Account is not a customer account, this is it's a Cisco internal or it's a guest. You will not be able to create it on your own. You can go to the question mark, click on contact us and share. I was not able to create my account and we can help you check why why was that and the next steps. It may not be with tech because we do not.37:37To support the users specifically but we will tell you what to do next.37:56I'm not sure if that was the question, but if yes, those are the steps. Anytime? Okay, thank you team and special thanks to Suchita who was our panelist and was monitoring the chat and the Q and A session.38:02As well.38:22
