Hello and welcome. My name is Walter Gardezalad. I'm a customer success specialist for Cisco Umbrella and Cisco Secure Access. And today we will be looking at enabling the secure web gateway component for.00:05Cisco umbrella, also known as SWG. We will 1st be taking a quick look at what SWG is and what features it provides. After that, a short demo showing how to enable it will follow. So what is a secure web gateway?00:20Secure web gateway is a web proxy network security solution that protects a business's internal network beyond the DNS layer from unsecured internet traffic. It provides tools for blocking threats, enforcing policies, and safeguarding data. It is basically a checkpoint that filters.00:40And monitors web traffic in addition to implementing several other security features that provide many benefits such as blocking malware, enforcing policies, preventing data leakage, and protecting users regardless of their location and many more. So what about Cisco's umbrella as the.01:00WG. Cisco's umbrella SWG is a full proxy that logs and inspects your organization's web traffic to deliver full visibility, URL and application level controls, and advanced threat protection. Its main features include content and app control, SSL traffic.01:20Encryption and inspection, URL logging and real time recording, and file inspection sandboxing, and blocking. It includes full visibility of all web traffic, antivirus and advanced malware protection, sandboxing, decryption, content control, and granular app activity controls, all in one.01:40Need to use interface. One additional consideration is that the secure web gateway is just one component that is part of the Cisco umbrella comprehensive cloud security solution that is designed to simplify your environment, accelerate cloud integration, and provide flexible security that can grow with your.02:00Organization. As always, available features for your organization may vary and will depend on your specific licensing. So make sure that your package includes this feature, and if in doubt consult with your sales representative. Okay, now that you have a better idea of what SWG is.02:20What it does, let's take a look at how to enable it for your organization. Like most tasks in Cisco umbrella, there's a very easy process to get started using this feature. As always, start by logging on to your umbrella dashboard. Once you are logged on, simply click on the deployment section.02:40Then on the roaming computers subsection, and on the top right of the screen, you will see the settings icon. Click on it, and you will be taken to the global settings page. From there, you can select the cloud.03:00Settings option, and here you will find a toggle switch to enable or disable SWG, the secure web gateway, globally. And that's really all there is to it. You have now enabled SWG for all your organization's roaming computers. Each.03:20Individual computer will activate the feature on their next sync with umbrella. Now in addition to the global setting, you also have the ability to control SWG at the individual roaming computer level. In order to do this, simply go to the roaming computer section again or click back to roaming.03:40Doing computers if you are still on the global settings screen. And once there, you can select one or more computers. Once selected, you will see a new option of three dots appear. If you click on it, a dropdown list of.04:00Years.04:20That will let you select between three options. The last one shown follow global settings is the default, and it simply means that the selected computer or computers will follow the setting you have configured with the global toggle, either on or off. Next, the enable S.04:20WG agent option will turn SWG on for that computer regardless of whether it is turned on or off globally. This could be useful should you want to 1st test SWG out on either one or a small number of computers before enabling it globally. Lastly, the, the.04:40Disabled SWG agent option will turn SWG off for that computer. Regardless of whether it is turned on or off globally. This could be useful if you have already enabled SWG on all computers or having issues with a specific website and want to turn off the feature for troubleshooting or ruling out.05:00Proxy issues. On the client side, you can verify the status of SWG by opening up the Cisco Secure Client GUI, clicking on the advanced button on the lower left, then selecting the umbrella section.05:20And verifying in the information box secure web gateway section that the feature is in fact enabled and protected. This concludes the enabling SWG demonstration. I hope that you have enjoyed the.05:40This video and found it useful, and I would like to thank you for watching.06:00
