Welcome to the Nexus Dashboard pre upgrade validation script, presentation and demonstration. For today's agenda, we're gonna talk about what is the Nexus dashboard pre upgrade validation script.00:04Then we're gonna do a demo on how to use the script. The Nexus dashboard pre upgrade script is designed to detect and help resolve potential issues that could impact the success of your Nexus dashboard upgrade. It runs on any Linux server with necessary dependencies or from an ACI that can reach the nexus.00:16Dashboard management address, making it flexible for different deployment environments. However.00:36The script should never be run on the Nexus dashboard itself and special tension is needed when running it against Nexus dashboard version 411G, which requires root access due to specific permissions. And with that, let's go ahead and jump to the.00:41In this demonstration, we're gonna show you how you can run the Nexus dashboard pre upgrade validation script to check for any known issues that can impact the success of your Nexus dashboard upgrade. With that said, let's go ahead and start.01:001st of all, we need to to go to this GitHub page. This page has a lot of information about the script such as information about the script.01:13What are some of the checks? How to run the script and any dependencies? 1st of all, let's go ahead and download the code or the script. Select download set. Now in my case, it's already downloaded. When you download the script, there are gonna be four different files.01:29You're gonna have a Python script for the script, a readme file, a requirements file, and a worker function for a python script. Now let's go ahead and run the.01:51Install the dependency requirements 1st.02:08In my case, this was already installed, so that's why we get that message. Next step is to install the SSH pass.02:33Finally, let's go ahead and run the script.02:58The script is gonna ask you for the IP address of one of the nexus dashboard nodes. No.03:22It is asking for the Risky user which is the same as your admin account. Use the admin password for the risky using password.03:38Note that if you are running the script on your Nexus dashboard 411G, you will need root access for that. Open a tech case to get a root password to be able to run the script.03:54Now that we input the password, the script is gonna run some checks. I want to make sure they can log into the, to all the Nexus dashboard. Now during this option, you wanna.04:28Select an option to either generate new tech support files or use existing tech support files. In my case, I'm gonna use the option of existing tech files to make this demonstration a little bit faster. I'm gonna select option number two and it's gonna ask me.04:38For the tech support files on each Nexus dashboard, I'm gonna select the 1st option for Nexus dashboard node one, the 1st option for Nexus dashboard node two, the 1st option for nexus dashboard three.04:58Now, this part of the process will take a little bit of time. For the purpose of this demo, I'm gonna go ahead and pause this video and come back once the, this process is completed. After about three to 5 min.05:18You will be able to see the results. Here you'll be able to see the different checks and these results for the different checks. If you find any problems on your script results, the recommendation is to open a tag case to have tag review and help you.05:35Resolve that issue before you start the upgrade. In my case, I did find an issue regarding the, the space size on the disk for my nexus dashboard. So I would wanna open a tag case to get this issue resolved.05:53Now, before you open the case, you wanna make sure that you include the ND pre upgrade validation results as part of the case so they can review it and help you resolve those issues. With that, this concludes the demonstration. I hope this demonstration was useful.06:21Thank you, everyone.06:37
