Transcript

Hi everyone, my name's Martin mcbrede and I'm a customer success specialist, and in this quick bite video, we'll take a look on how we can connect Nexus dashboard to.00:12Go Intersight using the inter site device connector.00:23In today's session, we'll cover the following topics. We'll start with a Nexus dashboard overview and the value that it brings by being able to connect it to Cisco Intersight, then we'll go over the requirements needed.00:30To be able to use a device connector to claim Nexus dashboard in the Cisco intersight. And then we'll go through a demo on how to claim Nexus dashboard. So we'll start with what is Nexus dashboard.00:45Nexus dashboard is designed to simplify data center networking by leveraging powerful automation and advanced analytics. It acts as a central point of control connecting seamlessly to the Cisco Intersight portal with device connector that's already embedded in the management controller.01:04And this integration ensures that your infrastructure is always connected and ready to perform. Next we'll talk about what are some of the benefits of being able to connect Nexus dashboard to Cisco Intersight.01:23And we look at the value that Nexus dashboard brings to your team boils down to these three four pillars. 1st being simplicity. We focused on creating a true turnkey interoperability, allowing you to integrate your various technologies with these.01:38Looks like it is visibility. In today's environment, you can't protect what you can't see and Nexus Dashboard accelerates your ability to detect and investigate potential threats while maintaining constant contextual awareness of your network's health.01:58And 3rd is efficiency. We know that time is critical during an incident and Nexus dashboard helps you to accelerate your time to remediate issues and significantly expedite log collection that can be used for tax support.02:15Ensuring that your team spends less time troubleshooting and more time driving business value. By combining these elements, Nexus dashboard transforms the way you manage your data center, making it more resilient, agile, and easier to operate.02:32So to ensure a successful integration, let's walk through the key requirements for configuring the Nexus dashboard device connector. 1st and foremost, the device connector must be able to properly resolve sVC.Intersight.com.02:51Additionally, your firewall must also allow outbound communication on HTTPS port 04:43 to ensure that the device connector can reach Intersight.com. It's also important to note that the setup is specifically supported for claiming Nexus dashboard.03:10With Intersight SaaS, please be aware that the Intersight connected virtual appliance is not currently supported for this specific connection. And for licensing, you do not need to purchase an additional license specifically to claim Nexus dashboard with Intersight.03:30Would you want to ensure that the inner site account that you are using for this process is properly registered with smart licensing to maintain compliance. So by meeting these criteria, this will help you to ensure that you have a smooth and successful deployment.03:49Now that we've covered the connectivity requirements, let's take a look at the key features enabled by integrating Nexus dashboard with Cisco Intersight. 1st we have automatic metadata updates, and this feature allows various system components to receive real time data updates ensuring that you.04:12Your dashboard is always operating the most current information available.04:31Second, we streamline support operations with collection and uploading logs to TAC for when you're opening a support case when you're working with TAC Instead of manually gathering logs during a service request.04:37This integration allows for automated collection and uploading, which can significantly speed up the troubleshooting process and help our technical support teams resolve issues faster. And the integrations simplifies the administrative overhead by connecting directly to smart.04:53Licensing for this ensures that your licensing status is always synchronized and accurate, helping you stay compliant.05:13Without the need for manual tracking. In short, these features move us toward a more automated efficient and well supported environment, allowing you to focus more on your infrastructure and less on manual administrative tasks. Now we'll take a look at a demo on how we can claim.05:21Nexus dashboard within Cisco Intersight. So we're logged into Nexus dashboard and we're currently at the home page to be able to set up the connection to intersight. We can go to admin.05:40And then under Nexus Dashboard management, you can go to Intersight. This will take us to the setup page for the inter site device connector. Here we can currently see that this Nexus dashboard has not been claimed to an Intersight account.05:59And this tells us what the green dots here that we're able to connect to inter site but the account has not been claimed yet. Under settings, here's where we have options to either enable or disable the device connector.06:14We can set the access mode and we can set if we want the device connector to do auto updates. If you're using a proxy and you need to import certificates under certificate manager, you can import.06:34The certificates needed for your proxy. And under connection, here's where we can test the connectivity from Nexus dashboard to either a North America, intersight SaaS account or an EMEA.06:50Intersight SaaS account. So we'll check our connection to the North America inter site SaaS account, and this will go through and validate that all of the requirements for DNS.07:06ECP, RTLS connection, and as well as a bandwidth test that will show us the results of the device connector to Cisco Intersight. Under view details we can get.07:22Additional information for each one of these. So now that we've confirmed that we can successfully connect to Cisco Intersight, we can now move forward with claiming our device.07:38And there's two pieces of information we'll need to be able to claim Nexus dashboard in Intersight and that will be the device ID and the claim code. So now let's log into our inter site account.07:55And we can see that we currently have NO targets claimed within our inter site account. So we'll go to claim a new target, then under network, we'll select Cisco Nexus dashboard.08:13We'll click start. And then here's where we need to provide the device ID and the claim code. So we can copy that from our device connector setup, we'll copy the device.08:30X ID.08:49And the claim code, and then we'll select claims. So now we can see that our nexus dashboard was successfully claimed into Cisco Intersight. Back on our Nexus dashboard device connector page.08:50We can refresh and we can see that we have now successfully claimed our nexus dashboard into Cisco Intersight.09:10
