Problem
In rare cases, while you configure RAID on the Cisco Unity servers listed in the Components Used section, the process can stop while it erases disks. When this occurs, the display stops at either the "zeroing 150,000 sectors on HDD" or "zeroing 150,000 sectors on HDD2" message.
Solution
If the RAID process stops while it erases disks and gives you either the "zeroing 150,000 sectors on HDD" or "zeroing 150,000 sectors on HDD2" message, complete these steps.
-
Restart the Cisco Unity server, and carefully watch the reboot messages.
On the IBM Server RAID BIOS screen, when the text "Press Ctrl-I to access the Mini-Configuration Program" appears, press Ctrl-I.
-
On the Main menu, select Advanced Functions and press Enter.
-
On the Advanced Functions menu, select Restore to factory default settings and press Enter.
-
Press Y.
-
When the process completes, return to the Advanced Functions menu.
-
On the Advanced Functions menu, select Copy the configuration from drives to the controller and press Enter.
-
Press Y.
-
When you are done, press Esc until you exit the utility.
-
Start the configuration of the RAID arrays once again.
Refer to the Cisco Unity Release Notes for additional information.
