Cisco Announces End of Sale for Dell PowerEdge 2400
Effective August 24, 2001, Cisco will stop selling the Dell PowerEdge 2400. The Dell PowerEdge 2500 will supersede the 2400 as a Cisco Unity shipped platform.

Part numbers for the Dell PowerEdge 2500 will be activated on:
Services and Support
Hardware support will continue to be delivered directly by Dell or one of its service providers throughout the associated warranty period. The Dell PowerEdge 2400 servers shipped by Active Voice or Cisco included warranty support of three years for parts and three years for on-site labor, with next business day response time.
The Dell PowerEdge 2400 platform will continue to support Cisco Unity 3.0 and later versions until further notice.
Customers with SAS or SASU contracts will continue to receive software support from Cisco TAC. SAS customers will only receive support on Unity up to version 2.46. Beginning with the shipment of Cisco Unity 3.0, SASU will be the only software support offering.
SMARTnet services will be available for the PowerEdge 2500 systems during Q1, FY02 in the U.S. and Canada first, with other theatres to follow.

Cisco will stop selling the Cisco Unity 2.46 distributor part numbers that include a Dell G1, Dell 2400, or MCS-7835 platform. Effective, September 10, 2001 Cisco Unity 3.0 servers will supersede these parts.

Effective September 28, 2001 Cisco will stop selling the Dell Optiplex G1. The Dell PowerEdge 1400SC will supersede the Dell G1 as a Cisco Unity shipped platform beginning on October 1, 2001.

Cisco will continue to support the Dell Optiplex G1 for upgrades to Cisco Unity version 3.0, with the following exception:
- All currently supported port configurations of the Dell Optiplex G1 will be supported in upgrades to Cisco Unity version 3.0 except for the 16-port Cisco Unity Unified Messaging configuration with Exchange 2000. Due to performance issues, this configuration will not be supported for Dell Optiplex G1 upgrades to Cisco Unity version 3.0 or higher. The Dell G1 will be supported for upgrades to 16 ports of Cisco Unity Unified Messaging with Exchange 5.5.
