Displaying and Configuring ARM Cards

The alarm relays are controlled by system software through Control Bus commands. The ARM interface with the Control Bus allows the card to receive alarm signals from the NPM and to send status signals back to the NPM. The firmware on the ARM decodes the alarms. The ARM does not connect to the Cellbus because it does not packetize user-data.

Displaying Card Parameters

To display the Card Configuration dialog for this device (using the rear or front view), right-click on the card to display the card "Configure" pop-up menu, then select Configure.

Front Card Configuration Dialog

Use this dialog to display ARM card characteristics, hardware, firmware, and status information. The Card Configuration dialog parameters are described in Table 16-1.

Parameter Description

Slot No

Identifies the slot the card is in.

Card Status

Status of the card. Examples are:

  • Active—Card in use. No failure.

  • Standby—Card idle. No failures.

  • Failed—Card failed.

  • Down—Card downed.

  • Mismatch—Mismatch between front card and back card.

  • Missing—An active card has been removed.

FrontCard Type

Identifies the type of front card. In this case, it is an NTM.

Front Card Serial#

Serial number on the front card.

FrontCard Revision

Model, hardware revision, and firmware revision of the front card.

Card Y-RedStatus

Card Y-Redundancy status. The values can be one of: primary, secondary, null.

AssocCard for Y-red

Associated slot for this card's Y-Redundancy. If the Card Y-RedStatus is primary, the secondary card index displays in this field. If the Card Y-RedStatus is secondary, the primary slot index displays in this field. If Card Y-RedStatus is null, a zero (0) appears in this field.

No. Ports (Front Card)

Number of ports on the front card.




Note   This is not a configurable dialog.

Back Card Configuration Dialog

Use this dialog to view back card characteristics, hardware, firmware, and status information. The Card Configuration dialog parameters are described in Table 16-2.

Parameter Description

Slot No.

Number that identifies the slot the card is installed in.

Card Status

Status of the card. Examples are:

  • Active—Card in use. No failure.

  • Standby—Card idle. No failures.

  • Failed—Card failed.

  • Down—Card downed.

  • Mismatch—Mismatch between front card and backcard.

  • Missing—An active card has been removed.

Backcard Type

Backcard type.

Backcard Serial #

Serial number on the card.

Backcard Revision

Model number and hardware revision of the backcard.

No. Ports (Backcard)

Number of ports on the back of the card.




Note   The parameters in this dialog cannot be configured.
