Description of the Release |
Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.3(8)XX is an ED (XED) release optimized for the ARP Auto log off feature (FEAT-247338). This release is based upon the Cisco IOS Software 12.3(8)T maintenance release. Any early deployment (ED) release of software should be used in a test network before it is deployed in a production network. |

Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(8)XX supports these platforms:
The ARP-Auto Log Off feature improves control for probing the authorized peers. There is also a more accurate and controlled detection of a peer's activeness. The ARP-Auto Log Off feature allows for the configuration of the frequency a peer is probed (the interval) and the maximum numbers of retries (the count). Note: The features delivered with this XED release are immediately incorporated into Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3(sixth release)T and subsequent Cisco IOS 12.3T releases. |
