Early Deployment (ED) Release Summary
Description |
Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.0(4)XM is a short-lived ED release introducing support for the new Cisco 805 serial router. The Cisco 805 serial router with integrated Cisco IOS technology provides small offices with secure and reliable Internet access via Frame Relay, leased line, X.25 or asynchronous dialup. The new router features an Ethernet port and a serial port that supports synchronous serial connections of up to 512 kbps or asynchronous serial dialup (up to 115 kbps) with an external modem. The Cisco 805 serial router offers a secure, manageable multiprotocol solution for remote network access. The Cisco 800 serial router offers a complete range of security options, including the Cisco IOS Firewall feature set and IPSec.

Interim Builds |
Short-lived X releases do not provide interim builds.
Interim builds are not recommended and are not fully tested. Customers will only be provided with interim builds when a critical defect renders the maintenance release unusable. |

Recommended Migration |
Features of Cisco IOS Software Release 12.0(4)XM will be ported to Cisco IOS Software Release12.0(6)T.
