Early Deployment (ED) Release Summary
Description |
Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.0(4)XL is a short-lived ED release. This release is focused on delivering high density voice over IP (VoIP) applications on the Cisco AS5800. The VoIP function gives the Cisco AS5800 the ability to be an H.323 Gateway (Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) to VoIP). It will support up to a T3's worth of voice calls over four Voice Feature Cards (672 for T3, and 720 for two E1 cards). Traditional Cisco AS5800 modem and ISDN data features will continue to be supported in mixed voice/data mode.

Interim Builds |
Cisco IOS Software Release 12.0(4)XL will provide interim builds.
Interim builds are not recommended and are not fully tested. Customers will only be provided with interim builds when a critical defect renders the maintenance release unusable. |

Cisco IOS Software short-lived ED or X releases do not provide scheduled maintenance releases.

Recommended Migration |
Features of Cisco IOS 12.0(4)XL will be ported to Cisco IOS 12.0(4)XH.
