Description of the Release

 		 Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.1(5)XU is an ED release (XED)optimized for the cva120 series cable modems. This release is based upon the 12.1(5)T maintenance release.  This release introduces IOS support for the cva120 service cable modems. Any early deployment (ED) release of software should be used in a test network before being deployed in a production network.

The Cisco CVA122 Cable Voice Adapter features one F-connector interface to the cable system, one RJ-45 (10BaseT Ethernet) hub port, one USB device port, and two RJ-11 analog voice ports. The USB interface enables the cable voice adapter to connect to a PC with a USB interface, without having the user to open the unit and install an Ethernet network interface card (NIC). If supported by the PC and service provider, PCs can be connected to the cable voice adapter using both the Ethernet and USB interfaces.

Note:
The features delivered with this XED release will be immediately incorporated into Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(2)T and subsequent Cisco IOS 12.2T releases. See Migration section below for details.

 Cisco Systems, Inc. released Cisco IOS XED release 12.1(5)XU as a short-lived ED release in order to FCS the cva120 platform.  The cva120 is a consumer SOHO platform.
