X Release: Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.1(5)XV is an XED release based upon the 12.1(5)T maintenance release. This release introduces IOS support for the Cisco AS5850 Universal Gateway: the highest density, carrier class access server on the market offering unparalleled capacity and availability.
Any early deployment (ED) release of software should be used in a test network before being deployed in a production network. |

The Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(5)XV will support the following platforms:
Feature Description: The Cisco AS5850 is specifically designed to meet the demands of large service providers such as Post, Telephone, and Telegraphs (PTTs), regional bell operating companies (RBOCs), inter-exchange carriers (IXCs), and large Internet service providers (ISPs). The AS5850 initially supports up to 2688 calls (4 x CT3s) or 88 E1s. The Cisco AS5850 offers high availability features such as:
