Early Deployment (ED) Release Summary

Description of the Release

 Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.1(1)XB is an S Early Deployment Release (XED). This release introduces two platform models of the Cisco 800 series:  The Cisco 827 Data only and the 827-4V Voice Model. All together, this release provides asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) support, enhanced voice functionality and more scaleable port distribution. 

The features delivered with this XED release will be immediately incorporated into Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(3)T and subsequent Cisco IOS 12.1T releases.

 Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(1)XB is an X Early Deployment Release. XED as a group are based on Major Releases of Cisco IOS Software. ED Releases are a vehicle to quickly deliver new functionality, addressing the need for early availability of product. These Releases provide new technologies for customers to deploy in a limited manner in their networks. Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(1)XB is a one-time release.
