Description of the Release

BU Release:

Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.2(25)SW is a specific technology early deployment release (STED) optimized for SS7 Signaling and Sigtran Protocol support. This release is based upon Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2S. The initial release, Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(18)SW, introduces support for all SS7 Signaling features currently found in Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(4)MB13. This includes but is not limited to:

• Basic IP
• SS7 MTP1, MTP2, MTP3, SCCP and GTT
• Sigtran SCTP M2PA, M3UA, SUA
• MAP Gateway for SIM Authentication in WLAN

Any early deployment (ED) release of software needs to be used in a test network before you deploy it in a production network.
