Description of the Release

Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.2(15)XR is an ED (XED) release optimized to deliver these features:

  • Leverage strengths of high end Catalyst switching infrastructure, Access Points and Wireless LAN solutions Engine.

  • Enable deployment of new technologies such as wireless IP Telephones (for example, Satchmo) or similar services in the Cisco target enterprise accounts.

This release is based upon the Cisco IOS Software 12.2(15)JA maintenance release. This release introduces IOS support for the new platform Catalyst 6000-WSM.

Any early deployment (ED) release of software should be used in a test network before it is deployed in a production network.
