Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.2(2)XR is an ED release (XED) optimized for the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) Gateway on the c3640 and c3660 platforms. This release is based upon the Cisco IOS Software12.2(2)T maintenance release. This release introduces IOS support for a WAP Gateway appliance. Any early deployment (ED) release of software should be used in a test network before being deployed in a production network. | |||||||||||||

Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(2)XR is an XED optimized for the c3640 and c3660 routers. It introduces support for an IOS WAP Gateway. The IOS WAP Gateway is part of the Enterprise Mobility initiative. This gateway connects mobile users using WAP enabled Wireless clients devices (WAP Phones, PDA with a WAP browser) to Intranet database servers able to deliver Wireless Markup Language (WML) contents.
