Description of the Release

Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.2S is an Early Deployment release based on Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2 mainline in order to consolidate Cisco IOS features and platforms as a solution for large scale SP and Enterprise customers.

The ultimate goal of this release is to unify Cisco IOS Software Releases 12.0S and 12.1E into a single release that supports critical scaling, high availability features, and updated IP Routing infrastructure.

The three key phases of deployment for Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2S are:

Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(9)S LCS

  • This release is controlled and limited to selected customers for the purpose of early adoption and beta testing.
  • This release is available to enterprise and SP customers on 7200, 7500, 6500/7600, and 7400 platforms.
  • This release is available on Cisco.com (hidden post) and is protected by password.
  • This release is not advertised to customers worldwide.
  • This release is not available for orders or revenue.
  • There is no MFG shipment for this release.

Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(11)S RLS1

  • This release is controlled and limited to selected customers for the purpose of early adoption and beta testing.
  • This release is available to enterprise and SP customers on 7100, 7200, 7500, and 7400 platforms.
  • This release is available on Cisco.com (hidden post) and is protected by password.
  • This release is not advertised to customers worldwide.
  • This release is not available for orders or revenue.
  • There is no MFG shipment for this release.

Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(?)S RLS2

  • This release is productized for the first Cisco IOS Software 12.2S FCS release.
  • This release is commercially available to enterprise and service provider customers on the 7100, 7200, 7400, 7500, and 6500/7600 platforms.
  • This release is available from MFG and for download on Cisco.com.
  • This release is advertised to customers worldwide.
