Description

Cisco IOS® Software Release 11.2P is based on the main base code of Cisco IOS 11.2(2) and was released in December 1996. Cisco IOS Software Release 11.2, Cisco IOS 11.2F, and Cisco IOS 11.2P characterized the Next Generation of Release Process (NGRP) release model.

Cisco IOS Software Release 11.2P will continue to synchronize with the main line to pick up all the bug fixes on the main base code, and it will also provide new platform support with every maintenance release. This train will, by virtue of its nature, be slightly less stable than the main line.

Comments

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

The advent of Cisco IOS Software Release 11.2, Cisco IOS 11.2F, and Cisco IOS 11.2P characterized the NGRP release model. Under this model, no new features or platforms are added to the main train Cisco IOS Software Release 11.2 or Cisco IOS 11.2M once it is released. Only bug fixes were integrated with each maintenance release. As a result, this code attains a very high quality status with every subsequent release.

Cisco IOS Software Release 11.2P will continue to synchronize with the main line to pick up all the bug fixes on the main base code and it will also provide new platform support with every maintenance release. This train will, by virtue of its nature, be slightly less stable than the main line.

Cisco IOS Software Release 11.2F is the combination of Cisco IOS 11.2M and Cisco IOS 11.2P. It picks up all the bug fixes committed to both the main line and the P line. In addition to new Cisco IOS Software features that are directly added to the F line with each maintenance release, Cisco IOS Software Release 11.2F also synchronizes with the main line and the P line to inherit bug fixes and new hardware.
