Early Deployment (ED) Release Summary

Description

 Cisco IOS® Software Release 11.1AA is a platform-specific release. It consists of a limited number of feature-set images that provide new features or functionality to Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1 after Cisco IOS 11.1(5).


Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1AA delivers access features and functionality for access platforms such as Cisco 1600, Cisco 3600, and Cisco 5200 series routers. Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1AA is parented to Cisco IOS 11.1(6); thus, it has all the functionality supported up to the Cisco IOS 11.1(6) major release. The last scheduled maintenance release was Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1(20)AA, which first customer shipped (FCS) on July 6, 1998.

  • Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1(6)AA was the first AA release and only supports the EIPRI and Cisco 5200.
  • Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1(7)AA added support for the Cisco 1600, Cisco 5200, and Cisco 3600.

Target Market

 Cisco Systems, Inc. released Cisco IOS Software Release 12.0T for all active platforms and targets early adapters.

Maintenance Releases

 Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1(6)AA was the first AA release and only supports the EIPRI and Cisco 5200.

Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1(7)AA added support for the Cisco 1600, Cisco 5200, and Cisco 3600.

Interim Builds

 Interim builds are not recommended and are not fully tested. Customers will only be provided with interim builds when a critical defect renders the maintenance release unusable.

7-week maintenance cycle: Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1AA provided a 7-week maintenance release model.
13-week maintenance cycle: Not applicable

Recommended Migration

 Platforms and features of Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1AA were ported to Cisco IOS 11.2P. The last scheduled maintenance release was Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1(20)AA. The Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1(20)AA Cisco Connection Online (CCO) first customer shipped (FCS) date was July 6, 1998, and the manufacturing (MFG) FCS date was July 13, 1998.

If currently using Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1AA, the recommended upgrade path is Cisco 11.3AA, 12.0T, 12.0XA.

Year 2000 (Y2K) Compliant

 Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1AA is Y2K compliant.

General Deployment (GD) Plan

 Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1AA is not targeted for GD.

Life Cycle

 Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1AA reached end of engineering (EOE) in July 1998. The last scheduled maintenance release was Cisco IOS Software Release 11.1(20)AA, which FCS in July 1998.
