Introduction

This document describes the maximum number of roles, users (agents), and skill groups that each instance of Cisco E-Mail Manager Option allows. If the total number is over a certain limit, Cisco E-Mail Manager generates an error message. The maximum number of roles, users, and groups allowed per instance is a parameter that you can configure in the Cisco E-Mail Manager Option.

Note: This document applies to Cisco E-Mail Manager 5.0.

Q. What is the maximum number of roles, users, and groups allowed per instance in the Cisco E-Mail Manager Option?

A. By default, the total number of roles, users, and groups that each instance of Cisco E-Mail Manager Option allows (including those roles and users delivered by default) is 200. If the maximum number is reached, Cisco E-Mail Manager generates an error message (see Figure 1).

Note: Each User Interface (UI) Server can accommodate only 200 concurrent users.

In order to change the default settings, add these parameters to the rserver.cfg file that resides in this directory:

C:\Program Files\Cisco\E-Mail Manager\instances\<cust_inst>\engine\

MAX_AGENTS=<maximum number of agents allowed>

MAX_SKILLS=<maximum number of skill groups allowed>

MAX_ROLES=<maximum number of roles allowed>

Supply the new value. For example, in order to allow 400 roles, users, and groups, add these lines (see Figure 2):

MAX_AGENTS=400
MAX_SKILLS=400
MAX_ROLES=400

The maximum number is 1000.

Note: Do not confuse this number with the maximum number of users connected at the same time, which is a license issue.
