This document answers some frequently asked questions about the administration of log files in Cisco E-Mail Manager Option.

Refer to Cisco Technical Tips Conventions for more information on document conventions.

Q. How can I change the location of the log files?

A. In Cisco E-Mail Manager Option version 4.x, you can specify the directory path where you want to store the tserver.log, rserver.log, and inbox.log files.

A. Complete these steps:

  1. Click Start > Programs > eMail Manager > Cisco eMail Manager Configuration. The Instance and Logon Information window appears.
  2. Type the Instance name, Username and Password.
  3. Click OK. The Cisco eMail Manager Configuration window appears:

  4. Select the Logging tab.
  5. Specify the path to store the log files in the Log Location field.

A. If you use Cisco E-Mail Manager Option version 5.x or a later version, you can only specify the directory path to store your RServer log.

A. Complete these steps:

  1. Click Start > Programs > E-Mail Manager > Cisco E-Mail Manager Configuration. The Instance Login Information window appears.
  2. Type the Instance name, Username and Password.
  3. Click Continue. The Cisco E-Mail Manager Configuration window appears:

  4. Select the Logging tab.
  5. Specify the required path in the RServer Log Location field.

Q. Why are the log files so small?

A. The default size for Cisco E-Mail Manager Option log files is very small. You can increase the size of the log files. In order to do so, select Configuration Manager > Logging, and move the slide bar to the required size.
