Q. What does the trace message, "File Notification from Other Side ..... on NotFound Queue" mean?
A. In this message, "....." represents a file name which the Listener is attempting to process, but is unable to locate. This message is not an error message, but a trace message. The message indicates that the file on Side A or Side B Listener has been processed and removed by the processing side. Therefore, it can not be found when the Side A or Side B Listener tries to process it. Since the Side A Listener always processes files on both sides first, this trace message is typically found in the Side B Listener. Typically the Side B Listener is aware of the file, but backs off from processing to let the SideA Listener have the first attempt to process. Later, the Side B Listener searches for the file, which now cannot be found.
The Listener is part of Cisco Remote Monitoring Suite Option. Here is the topology for the Listener:
The ICM Logger informs the Listener of errors or unexpected conditions it encounters. Error reporting is handled by two processes on the Logger:
Customer Support Forwarding Service (CSFS) -- Receives events, filters them, and holds then in memory.
DDSN Transfer Process (DTP) -- (Also known as Phone Home) Transfers the events and export files to the machine running the Listener. It uses either a dial-up connection and the Remote Access Service (RAS) or a direct network connection. The Listener stores the events in an customer-specific directory on its machine.
