Introduction

This document shows you which files and directories Resource Manager Essentials (RME) backs up when you make a backup of the RME database.

Prerequisites

Requirements

There are no specific requirements for this document.

Components Used

The information in this document is based on the RME 3.x on Solaris only.

The information in this document was created from the devices in a specific lab environment. All of the devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If your network is live, make sure that you understand the potential impact of any command.

RME 3.x Backup

This section describes what happens when you do a backup from RME 3.x.

If the backup is in /opt/tmp/backupDir, RME creates a numerical directory, such as "0". To check, go to the backup directory and enter ls. You see:

/opt/tmp/backupDir# ls
0/

In the "0" directory, there are three other directories, as in this example:

/opt/tmp/backupDir# cd 0
/opt/tmp/backupDir/0# ls
cmf/ rme/ dfm/

Note: The dfm/ only appears if you have installed the directory. Without the installation of the dfm directory, you do not see dfm/ .

When you go to the cmf directory, you see:

/opt/tmp/backupDir/0/cmf# ls -l
total 96
drwxr-x--- 2 bin bin 115 Jun 1 16:42 campus/
drwxr-x--- 2 bin bin 407 Jun 1 16:42 database/
-rw-r----- 1 bin bin 13824 Jun 1 16:40 filebackup.tar
drwxr-x--- 2 bin bin 115 Jun 1 16:42 userinfo/
drwxr-x--- 2 bin bin 115 Jun 1 16:42 ut/

RME 3.5 has casuser/casusers as permissions. It also backs up more files.

-rw-r----- 1 casuser casusers 467 Apr 22 16:09 ani.tmpl
drwxr-x--- 2 casuser casusers 512 Apr 22 16:11 campus/

drwxr-x--- 2 casuser casusers 512 Apr 22 16:11 userinfo/
drwxr-x--- 2 casuser casusers 512 Apr 22 16:11 ut/

The contents of the filebackup.tar file are:
