Introduction

This situation might occur when you run the original release of Novell's NetWare CLIB.NLM version v3.12 or earlier with a Novell based v3.12 server that runs LAN²LAN Frame Relay software v2.00 or later:

Symptom

Novell NetWare v3.12 that runs LAN²LAN Frame Relay operates normally for up to two minutes. Then the server will ABEND (ABnormally END) and display this message:

ABEND on FILTER.NLM
 ALLOCATE NONMOVEABLE RETURNABLE MEMORY

Reason

Novell's NetWare v3.12 CLIB.NLM has problems to the degree of ABENDing the server. LAN²LAN for NetWare Frame Relay v2.00 or later uses this defective .NLM.

Solution

Upgrade Novell's NetWare CLIB.NLM v3.12 to CLIB.NLM v3.12f or later. The file, named LIBUP2.ZIP, can be obtained from Cisco's LAN²LAN Technical Support. This version corrects the ABEND problem completely.
