Define, Assess and Enforce Security Policies

Use your network's infrastructure to enforce security policy compliance on all devices seeking to access your network computing resources. Cisco NAC Manager, a key component of the Cisco Network Admission Control (NAC) product family, is the policy and management center to define role-based user access and endpoint security policies. Cisco NAC Server, also part of the Cisco NAC product family, assesses and enforces security policy compliance. With Cisco NAC, IT and security administrators can authenticate, authorize, evaluate, and remediate wired, wireless, and remote users and their machines prior to network access to reduce security risks. Cisco NAC Manager provides a centralized platform for establishing user roles, security checks, rules, and policies. It interacts with Cisco NAC Servers to implement the security requirements in a Cisco NAC deployment. Cisco NAC Manager also provides tools for monitoring and reporting of user activities.

Cisco NAC Manager and Cisco NAC Server allow IT and security administrators to:

  • Protect online resources and valuable information assets by defining and implementing access privileges based on user roles in the organization
  • Establish and enforce endpoint security requirements by using the built-in polices and custom checks for operating system configuration, patches, hot fixes, anti-virus software, and other security applications
  • Address compliance and audit requirements by generating user activity and history reports
