Introduction

This document provides return materials authorization (RMA) information for the Cisco Aironet 1232 AG Access Point (AP).

The AIR-AP1232AG parts consist of an AP1200 with an MP31G 802.11g radio and an RM22A 802.11a radio. For RMAs, you cannot order the AIR-AP1232AG parts directly with part number AIR-AP1232AG. See the Aironet 1232 AG AP RMA Table in this document in order to determine the parts to order for your Aironet 1232 AG AP.

RMA Information

The table in this section explains the part numbers to use in order to create an RMA for your Aironet 1232 AG AP.

The table provides the part numbers to use for each regulatory domain.

  • Column 1: AP Part Number for RMA—This is the number of the AP part that you have and need to replace.

  • Column 2: AP Part Number to Order—This is the part number to use in order to create the RMA.

  • Column 3: Radio Module Part Number to Order—This is the part number of the 802.11a radio. You need to add this part number to the part number of the AP with an 802.11g radio, which column 2 provides. You need to order this additional part in order to have the equivalent of the AP with the 802.11g radio and the 802.11a radio.

  • Column 4: Regulatory Domain—This indicates the regulatory domain, which depends on the country in which your AP is installed.

How to use this table: If you need to submit an RMA for your Aironet 1232 AG AP, you cannot use part number AIR-AP1232 AG- x -K9 (where x depends on the regulatory domain). Instead, you need to order AIR-AP1231G- x -K9 and AIR-RM22A- x -K9= as two separate items.

Note: If you are a customer and believe that you need to replace your 1232 AG AP, use the TAC Service Request Tool ( registered customers only) in order to create a service request with Cisco Technical Support. Cisco Technical Support evaluates the request and can create an RMA for your AP, as needed. In order to use this tool, you must have either one of these:

  • A valid contract number

  • The serial number of your AP
