More Information

If you have a bad configuration (or suspect that you have a bad configuration) in any Compatible Systems device loaded with OS 5.0 or later, you can set the rotary switch to switch 8. Please refer to the Install Guide for your device for details on the rotary switch.

Switch 8 tells the device to drop into the command loop early on in the boot process, and allows you to edit the configuration from the console. When you are done editing the configuration, save it, and then switch the rotary switch back to its normal position '0'. Refer to the Install Guide for your device for details on how to connect to your device with a console.
