More Information
Remote management of Compatible Systems routers can be achieved when you connect a modem to the AUX/Console Port. This allows password protected access to the console via a dial in phone line for the purposes of diagnostics, remote configurations, and so forth.
Due to physical limitation of the AUX/Console Port, modems must be configured in this manner in order to allow proper communications to/from the modem and remote administrator.
Note: Ensure that any dip switches on the modem do not conflict with these commands and that the modem is set to load these commands from NVRAM.
