Revised January 04, 2013This document lists the supported version combinations for Cisco Unity and Cisco Unified Communications Manager, and for Cisco Unity and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express when they are integrated through a SIP trunk. It contains the following sections:

A SIP trunk is used for the Cisco Unified CM and Cisco Unified CM Express integrations when the phone system extensions are in one of the following configurations:
•
(Best practice) Only SIP phones that support DTMF relay as described in RFC-2833.
•
Both SCCP phones and SIP phones.
Cisco Unified CM support patch (sp) releases are not listed in the table below unless they affect compatibility with Cisco Unity. If not listed, a support patch has the same compatibility as the base release. In addition, rereleased versions—for example, 3.x(xa) rereleased as 3.x(xb)—are assumed to have the same compatibility unless noted.
Cisco Unity service releases (SR) are not listed in the table below unless they affect compatibility with Cisco Unified CM or Cisco Unified CM Express. If not listed, a service release has the same compatibility as the base release.
Supported Version Combinations for Cisco Unity and Cisco Unified Communications Manager
Revised Januray 04, 2013For integrations through a SIP trunk, versions of Cisco Unity and Cisco Unified CM are supported only in the combinations listed in Table 1.
Note
When installed as Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition (CMBE), Cisco Unified Communications Manager is not supported for SIP trunk integrations with Cisco Unity.
Note
The Live Record feature is not supported with Cisco Unity when integrated with Cisco Unified Communications Manager through a SIP trunk integration.
Supported Version Combinations for Cisco Unity and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express
Revised January 13, 2011For integrations through a SIP trunk, versions of Cisco Unity and Cisco Unified CM Express are supported only in the combinations listed in Table 2.
