Setting up the Outgoing Mail Server
All outgoing emails from Cisco UCS Director require an SMTP server.
Note |
In the case of configuring an Outgoing Email Server with an SMTP FQDN, the DNS IP for the mail server remains cached indefinitely. Consequently, if the IP for the SMTP FQDN changes, UCSD fails to send emails as it continues to send them to the original IP address. Although the returned IP has a TTL (Time to Live), UCS-Director does not utilize it. Instead, it caches the IP indefinitely until UCS-Director is restarted. |
