Increase Performance and Scale

The Cisco Nexus 93120TX is a line-rate Layer 2 and Layer 3 10 and 40 Gigabit Ethernet switch for both 3-tier and spine-leaf architectures. With the option to operate in Cisco NX-OS or Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) mode, it can be deployed in small business, enterprise, and service provider architectures.

Features and Capabilities

The Cisco Nexus 93120TX Switch has 96 10-Gbps BASE-T and 6 x 40 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks. Front-panel ports can operate at 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, and 10 Gbps speeds. This gives you a flexible platform that's perfect for migrating network access ports to 10 Gigabit Ethernet. All ports are line rate, delivering 2.4 Tbps of throughput in a 2-rack-unit (1RU) form factor. Nexus 93120TX benefits are listed below.

Architectural Flexibility

  • Includes top-of-rack or middle-of-row copper-based server access connectivity
  • Deployed as a leaf node in a spine-leaf architecture for low-latency traffic flow and reduced convergence time in the event of a failure

Feature-Rich

  • Includes an enhanced version of Cisco NX-OS Software, designed for performance, resiliency, scalability, manageability, and programmability
  • ACI-ready hardware infrastructure gives you an automated, policy-based, systems management approach
  • Supports virtual extensible LAN (VXLAN) routing
  • Includes an additional 25-MB buffer, surpassing competing switch offerings

Highly Available and Efficient Design

  • High-density, nonblocking architecture
  • Easily deployed into either a hot-aisle and cold-aisle configuration
  • Redundant, hot-swappable power supplies and fan trays

Simplified Operations

  • Power-On Autoprovisioning (POAP) support allows for simplified software upgrades and configuration file installation
  • An intelligent API offers switch management through remote procedure calls (RPCs, JSON, or XML) over a HTTP/HTTPS infrastructure
  • Python Scripting for programmatic access to the switch CLI
  • Hot and cold patching, and online diagnostics

Investment Protection

  • A Cisco 40-Gbps bidirectional transceiver allows for reuse of an existing 10 Gigabit Ethernet multimode cabling plant for 40 Gigabit Ethernet
  • Support for 100-MBps, 1-Gbps, and 10-Gbps access connectivity for data centers migrating access switching infrastructure to faster speeds
