ONS 15454 SDH
Propagation, through Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) or Routing Information Protocol (RIP) , of an IP address in the reserved range 192.168.190.x causes reset of all Data Communication Channel (DCC) or local area network (LAN) connected nodes. This can only occur for nodes that have OSPF or RIP enabled. Once a node learns a route to a destination in the specified range via an OSPF or RIP update, all cards in the node reboot.
The 192.168.190.x range of IP addresses is reserved and is used within the 15454/327/SDH system. This range is not intended for other purposes. However, under the above circumstances, IP addresses in this range might be mistakenly used, and this will result in node resets occurring. All ONS 15454, 15327, and 15454 SDH releases through Release 4.1 are affected.
After adding or deleting a static route with a destination address that is included in the 192.168.190.x range, all cards in the shelf reboot. After modifying the IP address of a node to an address that is included in the 192.168.190.x range, all cards in the shelf reboot. When the route is propagated to DCC connected nodes through OSPF or RIP updates, nodes in the same DCC domain are affected.
Do not use IP addresses in the 192.168.190.x range. These addresses are reserved. When using ONS 15454, 15327, or 15454 SDH nodes, disabling OSPF and RIP will avoid this problem. Do not provision static routes with a destination address in the 192.168.190.x range. This issue is resolved in release 4.1.1 and later on the ONS 15454 and release 4.1.2 and later on the ONS 15454 SDH and 15327.
Do not provision a node with an IP address in the 192.168.190.x range as well.
