END-OF-LIFE NOTICE, NO. 1800
This Product Bulletin serves as formal notification that the circuit packs, listed in Table 1, for the ONS 15454 multiservice platform will reach their End-of-Life (EoL) stages according to the dates outlined in Table 2.

The ONS 15454 circuit packs listed in Table 1 can be replaced by the following circuit packs listed in Tables 3 and 4. Tables 5 and 6 provide descriptions for the replacement circuit packs.

BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY
Equipment Functionality
The 15454-XC-VT Cross-Connect Card is functionally equivalent to the EoL products with the additional capability to support VT level grooming, providing 672 VT ports. The replacement 15454-XC-VT card is qualified to operate in nonenvironmentally controlled facilities where ambient temperatures range from -40° to +65° Celsius.
The 15454-XC-10G Cross-Connect Card is functionally equivalent to the EoL product with the additional capability of expanded bandwidth management providing 1152 STS ports (versus 288 STS ports) and VT-level grooming of up to 336 bidirectional VT circuits (versus 0 VT ports). The 15454-XC-10G card is qualified to operate in environmentally controlled facilities where ambient temperatures range from 0° to +50° Celsius.
Software Support
The XC-VT card will operate with all existing system software supporting the XC or XC-T cards. The XC-10G Cross-Connect Card requires a minimum of Release 3.1 system software for operation.
