Extending the Reach of Medical Education
The University of British Columbia empowers its Faculty of Medicine with face-to-face video using Cisco Collaboration Meeting Rooms.
To address a shortage of healthcare professionals in rural areas of British Columbia, the UBC Faculty of Medicine set a goal to bolster the number of practicing physicians and improve access to care.
Cisco was able to provide a hybrid video collaboration solution to help enable face-to-face distributed education anywhere in the province. This included:
- High-quality video: Delivers a collaboration experience that meets medical accreditation requirements
- Cost-effective scalability: Facilitates expansion of distributed learning program with zero capital investment
- Better access to care: Helps put more practicing healthcare professionals in rural areas across the province
