Viewing Task Summary

A task is created immediately and displayed in the Tasks Summary window, when you select Update, Activate, or Update and Activate button in the Firmware Update window.

The Tasks Summary window shows details about a list of tasks triggered in different time periods.

Procedure


Navigate to Logs > Task Summary.

The Tasks Summary page opens.

Name

Description

Task Name column

Name of the task. When you select Update, Activate or Update and Activate button, the corresponding task name is displayed under the Task Name column.

Click the task name to view the Details and Execution Flow of the task.

The Details area displays the following information:

  • State

  • Status

  • Task ID

  • Name

  • Duration

  • Start Time

  • End Time

The Execution Flow area displays the following information:

  • Name of the component/drive/persistent memory for which the task is executed.

  • The component category (for example, Storage) to which the component/drive/persistent memory belongs to.

  • Result of execution of task (for example, Success)

    When you click the Add icon associated with the component/drive/persistent memory, one of the following stages is displayed along with the time stamp.

    Successful update:

    • Updating Firmware

    • Copying files is in-progress

    • Firmware copied successfully

    • Updating

    • Firmware updated successfully

    Skipped update:

    If you create a task to update a firmware on a component that already has the updated firmware, the following stages are displayed:

    • Updating Firmware

    • Firmware up-to date, skipping update

    • Firmware up-to date, skipping activate

    Failed update:

    • Updating Firmware

    • Copying files is in-progress

    • Firmware copied successfully

    • Firmware update triggered successfully

    • Waiting in Queue

    • Verifying image

    • Error

    • Failed to update firmware

State column

Current state of the task.

The following are the different states of a task:

  • Running—Indicates the percentage of task execution.

  • Completed—Indicates 100% completion of task execution.

Status column

Shows the status of firmware update/activation process after execution of the task. This can be one of the following:

  • Critical—Indicates that some of update, activate, or update and activate tasks are failed.

  • Ok—Indicates that the update, activate, or update and activate tasks are successful.

Start Time column

The time when the task begins.

Duration column

Specifies the duration needed for task completion.

End Time column

The time when the task completes.

Resolutions column

Displays recommended actions to resolve the issue that caused the task's failure.


Viewing Last Update Summary

The Last Update Summary page shows details about a result of firmware upgrade process after execution of a most recent task.

Procedure


Navigate to Logs > Last Update Summary.

The Last Update Summary page opens.

Name

Description

Name column

Name of the component undergoing the firmware upgrade process.

Slot column

The slot where the component is installed on the server.

Running Version column

Current firmware version running on the component.

Last Updated Version column

Firmware version updated on the component after execution of the recent task.

Status column

Firmware update status. This can be one of the following:

  • PASS—Firmware is updated successfully.

  • SKIPPED—The Cisco HUU skips the component as the component already has the updated firmware.

  • FAILED—Firmware is not updated successfully.
