Overview

Overview

The traditional way of managing network devices is by using Command Line Interfaces (CLIs) for configurational (configuration commands) and operational data (show commands). Cisco IOS XE supports the Yet Another Next Generation (YANG) data modeling language. YANG can be used with the Network Configuration Protocol (NETCONF) to provide the desired solution of automated and programmable network operations. The YANG models allow you to configure and monitor the SD-Routing devices using Configuration Group. A configuration group is a logical grouping of features or configurations that can be applied to one or more devices in the network managed by Cisco SD-WAN Manager. You can define and customize this grouping based on your business needs. The YANG models provide various commands for configuring and monitoring the hardware and network connectivity.

The YANG commands included in this document are a sub-set of the complete list of IOS XE YANG commands. These commands are validated on SD-Routing devices on the SD-WAN manager for different solutions. For a complete list of YANG commands, see https://github.com/YangModels/yang/tree/main/vendor/cisco/xe/17161.

Note

The commands that have not been converted to YANG models can be used through the classic CLI parcel for configuration.
