Introduction

This document describes a problem encountered when you install a fresh version of  Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX), there is an option to add a patch or service update (SU). Once you choose this option, there are three different methods to install the patch onto the server. The methods are to use Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), FTP, or LOCAL.

Problem

If you choose the LOCAL option in order to apply the SU1 patch for UCCX Version 10.5(1) in a fresh install, the installation encounters the error as shown here:

Unable to get patch(s) from directory :
/common/download/install-patches.txt u1mode meter=on

This error indicates that you have encountered Cisco bug ID CSCuq99141.

After you receive this error, select OK, and the original prompt of options to apply a patch appears.

Solution

For a successful fresh installation of UCCX Version 10.5(1) with the SU1 patch, you must choose the SFTP or FTP option.
