Cisco Search 2.0 Goes Live

Cisco.com now offers a vastly improved Search experience. You have told us that Cisco support content is good, but it can be difficult to find what you need quickly. With a Website that receives more than five million searches per month, Cisco is following through on its commitment to customer satisfaction by improving search tools and results.

Besides delivering more relevant initial results, Cisco Search 2.0 provides new controls that enable you to refine and sort your results quickly, driving you to the most relevant content in less time and with less effort.

Cisco Search 2.0 offers these improvements and controls:

  • Keyword Auto Suggest - View keyword recommendations similar to what you type in, based on frequently searched terms.
  • Navigators and Filters - Segment your results by Site Area, Task, Document Type, Product, IOS Software, or Technology, with a single click.
  • Breadcrumb Controls - Get a clear view and understanding of the search filters you have applied, and remove unwanted filters, with a single click.
  • Sort by Date or Relevancy - Organize your results by relevancy or by published date, with a single click.

Updated Cisco IOS Software Documentation

Starting with Cisco IOS Release 12.2SRC, the Cisco IOS 12.2SR documentation set includes a suite of configuration guides as companions to the command references. The configuration guides document Cisco IOS software features supported in Cisco IOS release 12.2SR. Feature descriptions may contain configuration information that applies to other releases if that feature is supported in multiple releases or on many platforms.

The Cisco IOS command references continue to include documentation of commands supported (for example, in Cisco IOS Release 12.2SR), but also include commands supported in other major releases, such as Cisco IOS Release 12.2SX. As a result, some commands found in these books may not be supported in the Cisco IOS Release 12.2SR release.

Check out these recently updated configuration guide s and command references today:

TechWiseTV: "Network Admission Control Design"

As the number of unmanaged devices used by employees, contractors, and guests who need access to your network expands, the likelihood of noncompliance with your security policies also increases. To solve this dilemma, many IT professionals are either implementing or considering Network Admission Control (NAC). Is NAC right for your network? What are the issues you have to address to successfully deploy NAC?

TechWiseTV answers these questions and shows you the principal technical considerations and options available to you in a mature, goal-oriented NAC implementation. This 60-minute video broadcast will help you learn about:

  • If NAC is right for your network
  • The four deployment modes you should consider
  • Design and topology considerations
  • The common pitfalls to avoid that often doom a NAC installation
  • Design implications for VPN, wireless, remote sites, or a campus
  • What to do when things fail
  • How to account for non-PC devices without manual workarounds

Let TechWiseTV help you determine if you need NAC and how to implement it properly.
