Introduction

A user needs to access a router using DEC's Maintenance Operation Protocol (MOP). Currently, the user can only access the router with the Network Control Protocol (NCP) command connect via bna-0 physical-add <router-address> . Using connect mode with the router's DECnet address fails, even with the router's DECnet address in the NCP table.

Prerequisites

Requirements

There are no specific requirements for this document.

Components Used

Conventions

Refer to Cisco Technical Tips Conventions for more information on document conventions.

Explanation

Connect mode uses MAC addresses, not DECnet node addresses. You can use nodenames if you have configured a MAC address for the node in your NCP database.
