Introduction

If you're loading the Cisco IOS® Software Documentation CD on a Microsoft Windows 2000 machine, and you are using a CD produced prior to July 2000, the documentation files may not load properly. This document provides a workaround for the Windows 2000 users.

This document is not restricted to specific software and hardware versions.

The information presented in this document was created from devices in a specific lab environment. All of the devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If you are working in a live network, ensure that you understand the potential impact of any command before using it.

To Load the IOS Documentation CD on a Windows 2000 Machine

Follow the instructions provided below:

  1. Uninstall any previously installed IOS Documentation files.

  2. In Start --> Run, type regedit and press Enter.

  3. Locate the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/IE4/Setup/Path.

  4. Change the value from "%programfiles%\Internet Explorer" to the location where Microsoft Internet Explorer is installed on your computer, for example "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer". Close the regedit window.

  5. Install the IOS Documentation CD.
