This document provides frequently asked questions for dialout utility.

Q. Does the CDU support multiprocessor systems?



A. CDU Build 355 or later supports multiprocessor systems.

Q. Why can't I change communication port settings after I've upgraded to Build 36x?



A. There was a new switch added to the CDU. Edit the setup.wnt or setup.w95 files prior to installation to allow communication port changes. Under the section [DialOut_Security], change the ConfigAllowed=0 parameter to ConfigAllowed=1.

Q. Why did I receive a registry error during my CDU installation?



A. Prior to installation you need to add the following line under the [DialOut_Security] section of the setup.w95 file:

FixComPorts=1

Q. How do I set up my modem in a rotary group?



A. Enter the following commands on the network access server (NAS) rotary 1. When you set up a communication port on the PC, you need to select port 7001.

Q. How do I dedicate my NAS for dialout only (no dial-in access)?



A. On the NAS, under the line configuration, add the following:
