We’ve got some exciting news to share! Thanks to new tools and collaborative opportunities (and a bit of luck), we’re thrilled to announce that Muse 2.0 is ready for beta — a full month ahead of schedule! (I was aiming for an August 1 release, so this is a pleasant surprise.)
Here’s what’s new in Muse 2.0:
- UI Kit Updates: The UI Kit now reflects the new spec we envisioned, complete with themes and more. Huge thanks to our small-but-mighty design team for their focused and hard work!
- Muse CSS: Fully updated, thanks to the seamless integration of Figma MCP and Copilot.
- Icons, Courtesy of Atmosphere: Shoutout to the Atmosphere crew for generously allowing us to use their stunning library of over 200 icons. This means we don’t need to overhaul our entire icon library—thank you, Atmosphere team!
- Documentation Updates: Our documentation site has also received significant updates (again, a nod to Figma MCP, Copilot, and Agentic AI). While it’s mostly refreshed, we view the site as a "living document," so expect it to keep evolving.
What does beta mean for Muse 2.0?
It means our foundational updates are ready, but now it’s time to test them in controlled environments. Here’s what’s next:
- We’ll integrate our UI Kit updates into the new 2.0 Pattern Set.
- We’ll test edge cases to see how the UI Kit performs outside our Pattern Set, in components like Chat, Search, and more that Muse has influenced.
- We’ll collaborate with our AEM dev team to develop a test plan and experiment in an isolated environment where we can tinker freely with 2.0.
Check it out:
As with any beta, things can and likely will change as we test and iterate. For now, Muse 2.0 isn’t ready for full production use, but if you’re interested in experimenting with the UI Kit or CSS, let us know in the Muse Design System channel on Webex: https://eurl.io/#hzyHm51XR
We’re incredibly excited about this next chapter for Muse. While many of the familiar visuals will remain, Muse 2.0 represents a generational change under the hood. This update gives us a more flexible foundation to build on and extend for future projects.
Finally, a huge thank you to the team—Lauren, Tracy, Mile, and Estie—for your hard work and brilliant ideas. And, of course, a big thank you to the Atmosphere team for collaborating with us and sharing your amazing resources. We appreciate you so much!
Thanks for sticking with us—we can’t wait to see where Muse 2.0 takes us next.
